TI-Keyboard: Coming Soon?
Posted by Eric on 11 May 2002, 22:25 GMT

Several people have alerted me to an interesting new piece of hardware mentioned on Page 8 of the recent TI-Cares publication- a full-sized QWERTY keyboard that hooks up into your calculator's link port. A couple keyboard projects have been in the works lately by independent developers, but apparently TI has decided to make their own official version. More news to come? Hopefully...

I feel cheated that this is coming out. I have been tweaking my 102-key keyboard for months now and an official version is coming out. People are more likely to download the "official" version than my version.

Months gone to waste

I'd download your keyboard if it's cheaper than TI's keyboard.

Well, with this comment, it is (beating the old one of 9/11). I'm not sure I want to write this post. I actually though of asking ticalc.org to stop allowing comments to show respect for 9/11, but I decided to post this instead.

I think that QWERTY for the ti-83 plus is even more abnormal that the normal lettering system for the ti-83 plus. Then again, it's me

Ok, back to the keyboard... Does anyone know whether or not it will be rollable (like roll it up) I don't want to be carrying a full sized keyboard in my bookbag...

Looks solid... but compact

I don't think it is a full size keyboard, nor do I think it will be near that size

They keys look smaller than usual, but not too small to be impossible to use. It doesn't look like it folds up, or rolls up or anything though.

They need to make a ps2 adapter and drivers. That way we can use our own (more customizable) keyboards.

too many posts here. Pyramids... I wonder if that is arguably against the policies...
