Free CellSheet Application
Posted by Eric on 2 April 2002, 23:01 GMT

TI is running a special offer on CellSheet, its spreadsheet program for the TI-83+, TI-89 and TI-92+. Formerly $15, you can now get it for free for a limited time. Mmm...free is good.

Greetings all
As I look at all these other interesting ti89 apps, I realize that most of them require upgrades to the ti89 os, or something like that.
But anyways, I currently have an 89 with HW2, and version 2.03 (12/08/1999). Is it wise for me to upgrade? Even if I am an avid ti89 assembly game player? Please give me some input on this. Thanks.

Actually, I would recommend you upgrade. If you have DoorsOS, switch to UniOS. It is more stable. In addition to being able to use more Apps, AMS 2.05 has automatic recovery of archive mem. Bottom line: you crash it, you can still get the archive back. MaxMem and HW2 Patch also both work fine on 2.05. If you don't like 2.05, go back (I _COULD_ send it to you if you don't have it). In general, most ASM games will work on 2.05, especially the newer ones, and even more so those created with TIGCC because of the way it works. I would recommend the upgrade.

What a pain in the arse. Why can't they just provide a direct link? They better not mail me anything or sell my address!

Indeed it does. I have profited (from TI, of course) some $600 dollars worth of stuff from that contest nearly a year ago. I complained (in a single email) about not having an under-16 division. They added one, they posted my points in my email in the FAQ, I won. w00t for complaining!

The order confermations and purchasing are waaaay to redundent and slow. TI needs to clean some stuff up a bit.

Helping with ASM
Shawn Woods  Account Info

Hi, I was wondering that, if there is someone who could give me some help learning ASM for the TI 83+, I would really appreciate it. I have read all of the tutorials and I have made a couple tiny programs, nothing special. I am working on one right now, and I was wondering if there was someone who knew a lot about ASM (83+) that could maybe look over my source and give me some pointers and help me out with some things such as matrixies. My program is one I made in BASIC a long time ago, and there is a lot of Matrixies in it, but in ASM, Matrixies are HARD. If you can help me any, email me at bacon_cow@hotmail.com, or leave a message here. Thank you!

p.s. I have MSN Messenger

Ah, I was once like you. I sent emails to all the greats asking dumb questions. I got flamed, and I'm glad I did. It taught me to look around first, then ask.

I remember crying from frustration when I couldn't find any good tutorials.

You CAN learn ASM if you stick with it, and you have the concentration.

Good luck

You would think that people who remember what it was like to be a newbie and get flamed for it would have a little more compassion for others in the same boat. It’s not fun to be attempting to learn a new skill and get treated like crap by people who are in a position to offer help. I know we all hate hearing the same questions over and over again- especially when there is a link to an archive or FAQ practically under the newbies nose-but being tolerant and if possible, helpful, benefits all of us in the long run. “Pay it forward”.
Sermon over :)
