hey as long as you download it you can put it on your calc as often as you like. no more memory problems!

This is interesting. I didn't think many people would pay $15 for a calculator application. My guess is TI sold very few copies and is trying to increase interest. I always thought the flash application business model wouldn't work...

I use a visor deluxe to store phone numbers. :-) It's quite nifty, aside from having a backup module it lets me write memos and play games and stay organized about stuff.

I can't be certain of course, but I think you are in the minority here :-)

TO THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW:

FLASH rom has a limit to the number of read/write cycles per page, somewhere between 1 000 and 10 000 000, probably towards the top. This means that you're ROM will outlast you if you write everyday, but I'm just paranoid

You're probably right. The flash app signature sounds a lot like Micro$oft's new software licensing scheme, where you need to call them to activate your program. I'm just hoping that it will make Unix/Linux more appealing to people.

Yea, I wanna try Linux but 2 GB download is too much for me coz I'm on 56k and I don't feel like buying it.

You mostly don't have to download the whole cds.
For debian (www.debian.org) for example, all you need is a 20MB download, then you can install the rest you want (you seldom need everything) via http and/or ftp
You can also buy cds for quite cheap, then you don't have to download.
