ticalc.org Downtime
Posted by ticalc.org on 26 October 2001, 17:21 GMT
To our users, We apologize for the downtime in the past week and the resulting inconvenience. We are now pleased to reopen all areas of the site apart from the file archives, which we expect to bring back as well as soon as we have completed a review to remove potentially inappropriate material. Unfortunately, we haven't set a date for bringing the archives back up, but we will post more details once we have a better estimate. Please bear with us -- our archives are extensive and the review will take time. If there is any area where our visitors can be of help, we will post more information. Despite rumors to the contrary, we have received no threats or demands requesting we close our file archives. This is a decision made by our staff in the best interest of the site's future. This is also a move we take seriously, as we are aware that our users have come to rely on the availability of our archives. Until our archives return, we invite you to try those of other sites linked from our front page and Community section. Authors of our hosted sites whose links are affected by the closure of our archives can email us at hosting@ticalc.org for assistance. Thanks for your continuing patience, the ticalc.org staff

This is exactly y i'm studding to be a Layer!!! There is to many stupid fucking people in the world who would sue each other for the stupidest reasons. 30 years ago they said, don't trust the big brother, and now they expect the same big brother to take care of the products from there fucking around. How about some common sense.
BTW, a 10 year old does not need TI-89 to add 2 & 2, and 14 year old probably sits in his suburban home watching "real sex" on HBO and smoking a blunt instead of thinking about High Math any way.
TICALC.COM come Back. I need My downloads.

Hopefully it will show the whole URL...
I'm not sure if many people know this, but it should be helpful if you really need a file you can't find anywhere but on ticalc.org. Google keeps a cache of most of the internet.
http://www.google.com/search?q=cache:
http://www.ticalc.org/
(without the line break, I don't know if there is still a 40-char word limit or whatever)
So you could still access anything you need.

Back to my main point i stated on page 3, the kids that use the calcs are old enough and mature to handle drugwars and relize that its not like real life, and unless little kids are using their older siblings calcs, there wouldnt be a problem, cause they couldnt even turn the damn thing on or relize what the meaning of the game is,as for the porngraphy claims. ive been using ticalc.org for 3 years and i have never seen 1 scrap of porn

Why doesn't ticalc.org just rate their games? They could have E games, T games, and M games (hopefully no A games). That way you know if something is bad, so you won't download it if you don't want to see it. I really really miss the archives, and I haven't seen anything bad for the 82.

I saw some of Ticalc.org's recall adds. They word it like they blame us (coders, users). The blame clearly lies with TI, or whoever put the stuff on the CD.
I'd say we should boycott TI, but that would be kind of counterproductive;)
