I haven't tried it, but I've heard that GRAPH-LINK (not TI Connect) works under WineX. I can't try it, though, because I don't like paying money for software, and I don't know what the hell to do with a CVS tree.

Yes, it works under Wine but it's not a solution. Moreover, applications are still slower than native applications (examples: WordPerfect, Kylix, and some others). This is the reason why the TiLP project started.

Everyone! Linux HAS a graphlink like program except that it treats the calculator like an external hard drive. A friend (Jimmy, who is too lazy to get an account with ticalc.org) has RedHat & says it came with Linux. I dunno. I'm gonna build me a computer next summer and install Linux on it. I hate TI Connect.

Why are you angry? It's not like it hasn't happened before.

Yup. And while they're at it...
WonkoTheSane

it would be nice if the text-editing software TI is planning to ship with that nifty QWERTY keyboard is in a friendly format (e.g. text or xml) for cross-platform use. I seem to remember they're not even supplying a Mac version at the moment. If they do it properly, I see no reason why my TI-89 shouldn't be able to double as a PDA.

No need. Linux is about as popular as Esperanto, and for the same reasons.

I dont hav Linux but I no its good.

I think ther shud be a device file for it, and then mount it and acses the files that way. And ther shud be options for if you want no extensens, or same as DOS and Windows, or extensens .ti92 and the leter.

I think ther shud be anuther device file for sending CBL comands and makeing programs that can work on the computer conecting to the calculater.

THIS IS ALL CAPS BECAUSE IT IS IMPORTANT.

I WILL NEVER USE A MAC BECAUSE I MUST RIGHT-CLICK, ONE MOUSE BUTTON DOESN'T SUFFICE.

This is in correct capitalization because I am a lucid writer with concern for proper English.

Do you have any idea how off-topic and stupid that was? This poll was created to get people's opinions for a Linux linking program from TI. What do you do, come in here a bash Macs. If you don't have anything on-topic to say, don't say it at all.

By the way, I am against a linking program for Linux by TI. TI Connect was TI's full effort to create a linking program that would change the calculator world as we know it. It sucked. If that was TI's all-out effort, I would hate to see a half-assed attempt to appease the Linux community. In my opinion, TI doesn't have the skills to create a robust and powerful linking program. TI should take care of the calcs and let the real programmers deal with the software.

you can control click, or buy a third party mouse, with more than one button, or you can just not bother with them, because I do just fine with out one. Id buy one if I wanted to waste money on a mouse
