TI Keyboard: More Information Released
Posted by Eric on 16 June 2002, 08:40 GMT
TI has finally released new information on something that should have come out many years ago, the TI Keyboard. The keyboard, which runs on 3 AAA batteries and contains many nifty features such as compatibility with Microsoft Word, will be available in the fall.

Okay everyone, here's what I have to say about all of this (not that you really care):
First off, the keyboard is a GOOD idea. While some people here use calcs to program and solve complex math equations and all, there are a LOT of people who just use it for games. In my school, there are about 10 of us programmers, and the other 900 just have calculators to play games and pass math (heh, fools). Both groups have their obvious use for the keyboard, which has been pointed out many times already on this board: NOTE TAKING. Just cause TI doesn't make a tokenizing program doesn't mean this is pointless. Sure, I'll agree that it should be more like $25, rather than $40, but everything's overpriced nowadays so get over it.

I too must break my post up.
Here is a lesson on the use of "Its" versus "It's". Now, hang with me, because this could confuse you. "Its" is the possessive. Unlike other words in the English language, "Its" does not get an apostrophe when you make it possessive. "It's" is a contraction, meaning "It is". Thus, not only were you EXTREMELY redundant with your "PLAY MEGAMAN86. ITS COOL, YO!" posts, you also were using "ITS" wrong. It should be "IT'S" or "IT IS". You made the same mistake in the sentence "They reply because its fun to insult morons".
Moving on, how about we examine grammer, structure and usage mistakes?
"I can post thousands of aggrovating comments without worrying about getting openly yell at."
One of the sentences that you did remember to punctuate. I direct your attention to the last few words - "openly yell at". Yell is a verb, and verbs use the correct tense and conjugation. In this case, the word you're looking for is "yelled".
"the 1st part was completely redundant to all the other comments about the ti keyboard."
Tut tut...you forgot capitalization here. However, we've covered that already. The sentence structure is rather clumsy, and when taken in full context, we see that the second part - "to all the other comments about the ti keyboard." - is unnecessary. The next sentence explains why the first part of his posts were redundant, and clearly implies that you are referring to the "other comments about the ti keyboard."
More mistakes covered in the next post.

The final part of this does not have anything to do with spelling, grammer, usage, etc.
You accuse Tristan Dahl of being redundant, and set yourself up as a perfect example of what he said about hypocrites. You yourself spammed the "PLAY MEGAMAN86. ITS COOL, YO!" all over the first several pages of the board. This is not only redundancy, but a violation of a couple of the posting rules, such as no spam and keep comments constructive. Don't even say it - things such as the PARADE! posts are also violating the rules, as are GUILTY SPARK NEWS posts and those programs that output "lsvllhs15 sux". They also spawned in direct response to the crap that you posted. This does not excuse them, but certainly makes them make more sense.
"I don't know why these guys get mad at me and not the morons who post useless comments."
"These guys" are people like myself, or Tristan Dahl who keep mostly or completely out of the flame wars and other crap that gets in here. (On a side note, I admit that I've not stayed completely out of this - the examination of lsvllhs15's errors is an example...I am endevouring to do so though, and will continue to do so in the future.) Several pages back, I express my anger in general about parades, people like you, etc. Also please reread the second section of Tristan Dahl's post. He is truly staying out of it in a manner that I haven't quite managed, and is targetting EVERYONE who posts flames, spams, starts parades, etc.

I don't feel the urge to learn to type, because I don't intend to become a secretary. Once I wanted to start it, but my fingers revolted against the idea, so I rather sticked to my natural (read: learnt through years of practice) method. Besides, there's really nothing taught during the lectures I could type. When I was at high school, we had subjects like literature or history that consisted of long sequences of text, but it would have been a strange idea to type those in the calculator, and print them out. It does less good than the fuss it takes. And nowadays, the things I learn (digital technology, higher mathematics and physics, programming etc.) are not really fit for typing.
No offense on that, naturally. :)
