TI-83 Plus SDK Released
Posted by Nathan on 30 October 1999, 07:17 GMT
Texas Instruments released the TI-83 Plus Software Development Kit. According to the FAQ, this allows software developers to program in Zilog Z80 assembly code. Listing technical specifications and user interface guidelines--as well as offering a "software simulator/debugger"--the SDK will allow programmers to create tight programs that are optimized and integrated with the TI-OS (presently, programmers have used incomplete, hacked TI-83 and TI-83 Plus information for programming). Available only in English, this free SDK will soon be followed by both educational and professional versions, which will allow programmers to write Flash applications which execute directly from the Flash ROM.

I am glad to see ti release more info but couldn't viruses be written that would write to the flashrom > 10,000 times relatively quickly. This would destroy your flash rom.

For some reason, the debugger refuses to send ION to the emulator!

Damm Ti sucks with their prices. They are going to charge $99 for the educatonal and $299 for the professional. What the fuck is their problem. TI is just tring to cheat the developers. TI should actually pay us to make apps and programs for their calculators. I hope someone makes a hack for apps and gives it out for free. That will lower TI's prices and would be sweet pay back. I was expecting the professional verson to be around $99 and the educational to be around at most $50. TI really has done it now. They deserve to be flamed like crap. All the flames that have and are going around should all be sent to TI about these prices. If no one finds a hack I will!!
P.S. Of course I know this comment will be deleted. in at most an hour. I hope someone who feels the same reads it before than. Hopefully Programers will figure out a way.
Maby microsoft can steel TI's development system and make it cheeper and better, they have a reputation for this. I hope someone who works for microsoft reads this. hey they are already tring to steel the videogame busness from nintendo, sony, and saga with there system, code name X-BOX.

Yep on their website, they just released the App SDK well not yet for download but you can get it now for that fricken high price. Microsoft Visual C++ Pro edition is cheaper that that and it has a lot more features for development. eg. visual instead of typing .db "Welcome",0. TI is just ripping developers off. It's because of us developers that there calculators are alot of the time prefered. TI's email address should now be changed from ti-cares@ti.com to ti-cheats@ti.com same with there phone number.
1-800-ti-hates. Hey, maby I will get the people of mad to make fun of them. Ha Ha.
Hey, the ti-82, 85,86,81,80,and the 70 something were hacked, the 83 plus will be some day. Then TI will have to give there developement kit for a cheaper price.
P.S. If someone from texas instruments is reading this, go cheapen the price before you loose customers. Hey, we buy your $100 calculators and $7 to $17 apps and $10 accessorys, we should get some software for free made buy you other than updates and stupid CBL/CBR apps that we will never use since we don't want to pay some other 100 dollars. I bet it only cost you $200 to develop this. You are just greedy with your calculators. Your software cost as much as a playstation 2 or nintendo dolphin, when they come out. What are you going to do next make us pay to enter your site. I bet you will only sell 2000 copys of the thing 97% rich,2% companys.
