Wow. 663 pages. Has TI outdone themselves? A lot of this is really good though.

Okay, uh, first off, WHERE CAN I GET THIS THING? second off, anybody who comes HERE to post stuff asking why all the other ti calc's dont have this thing, are just asking for toruble, so shut the %&^%&$%*$^ up and go away.

No I'm not asking for trouble. In the 89/92+ manual it says that you can get info on programming in ASM from www.ti.com. The 89/92+ came out long before the 83+ did and even after a big petition TI said they were going to do the 83+ SDK first. Now they are going to do a 68k SDK... But its not scheduled do come out until 'Early 2000' which will end up being more like 'Mid-Late 2000'....

Does anyone know if the TI-89 SDK will include MacOS software?

I don't know if they will or not, but it's good to see more mac users =) Mac is good

Why does the CRAPPY TI-83+ get an SDK before the TI-89/92+? Aside from AMS 2.00 being released soon I see no other reason for releasing this SDK befor the 68k clacs. I mean the TI-92+ has been around much longer than the TI-83+, even the TI-89 was before. Why does the TI-83+ get all this useful ASM information before The TI-89/92+? WHY? HUH TI? ARE YOU GUYS ON CRACK? SUPPORT YOUR "OLDER" CALC BEFORE YOU "NEWER" (and useless) CALCS. Oh and if you flame me about talking smack about the TI-83+, I own all the calcs (TI-82, 83, 83+, 85, 86, 89, 92, 92+) so don't tell me I'm biased. I just know that the TI-83+ sucks, a TI-82 is much better.

Maybe TI will release a sdk only for the TI-89+(Hardware version 2.00), so then they consider the 83+ to have benn released first. Also, the ti-83+ has had 2 updates in <1 year, and in 2 years the 89 has had 1! Also, the 89 is more oriented for college, so maybe they don't want better people to program, as the 83+ is for highs school?

My guess would be that this SDK and the 89/92+ SDK are probably developed by two different teams, given how much different they must be...

Shutup. The TI-89 and 92(+) don't deserve the SDK. They already have enough asm programs already. And don't call my calculator crappy, espicially when it is sitting right in front of the screen.

Clearly you have a TI-83+ becuase you are stupid enough to defend a Mac over my 600 MHz Athlon Running Linux-Mandrake and BeOS (Sorry Macrohard!). Anyways TI-83+ are dumb, ugly, and ASM on it crashes more than on my 89. Bottom Line: Macs and TI-83+ suck. So don't go trying to argue with me, I own a G4 and a TI-83+, trust me they SUCK.

I am going to argue anyway. One the pc has less problems than the mac because programers have less experience with the mac. two the only reason ASM crashes on your calc is because you are what I like to call a bird. In relation with birds making nests anywhere, cloging things up making everything ugly. You probly have only 2k of ram free on your ti 83 plus. Your calculator probly looks ugly because you do to. And you probly need to wash your hands, you probly greese up your calculator so much that it looks green. Also I defend the mac because nobody else does accept for one other loyal mac fan who has also made comments on this article. Also My PC has everything yours does plus more. Read one of my other comments above on a 10th of what my pc is wired up to do.

Hey, everytime ti comes out with a new update I notice better asm support. One person gave my their calculator to update from base 1.03 to 1.12 and now their calculator barely crashes 1.03 crashed almost everytime. Okay, enough said Ass Head... Bye!!

No, my PC has a bunch more crap than yours does. I have four hardrives (10 Gigs each) and I only have 2 Gigs free. Also I only have 10k used up on the 83+ whereas on my TI-89 I have about 100k used. Also I resent the fact that you tell me my hands are greasy. First off all of my calcs are in mint condtition, second the reason I say it's ugly is cause of the nasty gray casing on it. And finally nothing against Mac fans, but I do not like the MacOS, at least until MacOS X comes out. Ohh, and that last remark calling me a donley was uncalled for, I never personally offended you.

No, I don't have a problem. I just edit large files videos), and play a lot of games. I also have another computer just for programming (C++, x86 ASM, and a few Linux Dist.). But the computer with four HD's has two OSes (BeOS and Linux-Mandrake) with BeOS doing most of the Video stuff and Linux handling my server. Finally it is 4 10GB hardrives.

MacOS X will change everyones view on Macs, so don't worry about it.

A normal heatsync on a Pentium only cools it faster by a small degree. The internal fan does the rest. Pentiums produce a lot of excess heat from processing data. The safest overclocking setting on a PIII is only about 100 MHz, and that's if you have an extra fan in the base. On the Athlon, however, the refrigeration system actually chills the processor, rather than fans it, which enables much higher speeds to be acheived. More on this later...gotta get to class!

He actually said something of use to me (not a flame). Someone overclocked a celeron to the fastest speed of a PIII that was like 300mhz. His computer works perfectly fine. All he needs to do if find a way to put internal cache into it. The celeron is a PII without internal cache. Something useful to some of you learning technichans(probly misspelled).

I think that since the 83+ has a large user base or potential user base due to the hordes of high school students, TI was just trying to satisfy the largest chunk at once. My guess is the 89/92+ won't have and SDK in the near future due to the fact that they are far superior to the lowly 83+(hey I only own the 83+, but come on, lets be realistic here) The 89/92+ are so much powerful and have so many programs already that there isn't such a driving need for the SDK technology. Just my thoughts.

I just noticed that you said the ti 82 is better. If you belive that you must be on crack. There is not one feature the ti 82 has that the 83 plus does not. The 83 plus has more and better features. By the way, mac os rules.(although i heard from a respectable source that linex is pretty good, I've never used it.) they do have linex for mac, you know. Yeah my TI-82 is better. It doesn't crash every time I play a game. Want to know why? 'Cause CrASH has a neato uncrashable keyboard handler and other cool stuff like that. Also its name is similar to BASH, SH, ZSH, CSH, TCSH, KSH and other cool Unix shells (BASH is my favorite). Also I dont fuck cows, I kill them and eat them. By the way "Think Different" is a good moto (not modo) I aggree. But ATI cards do suck, and Voodoo or nVidia (GeForce256, drool...) card is so much better. You have to try BeOS it rocks. Finally I don't care about Star Wars or Star Trek so I wont flame you for that.

Let me tell you the story of why having COMPAQ setup your computer hardware. My graphics accellerator is A 3d Rage Pro compaq installed the wrong driver, does that make you happy. The driver is for a laptop but I have the desktop verson of the card. Since compaq does not give you the drivers on a disk you can't really fix it. So there I do have such a computer, don't tell me to give it up when you have never seen it. Hey, how do I know whats his name has a 1GHZ chip in his computer, I don't, I only have two pentium II's at 400 mhz on my computer. See everything I said is true, you just don't belive me because you are jellous that you have something less. Don't blame me that computers get out of date so fast, my PC is not even a year old and the being able to walk into a store and buy a game has almost ended. My one of my macs are a macintosh performa 631CD, with 8mb, 500mb of hard drive space, a 14.4k modem a 13 inch monitor a Color Style Writer 2400 a jaz 1GB a 2x CD rom inferred, and a few other old features. My other one is the best G3 you can get of course I don't have a G4, I lied about that one because I was tired of people bragging. Okay happy now you talked it out of me. Dude, don't dis TI82's, they have more RAM than a TI83(+), and can run *Joltima*. Also, they can fit joltima AND fast tunnel! The only advantages 83+ have over 82's is that they have archives and a few math features.

83+ only has less ram because they have flash memory.

Ohh Flash Memory! Yeah my TI-89 and 92+ both have more Flash memory than your gay, ugly, slow TI-83+. In fact they have more plain memory than you have Flash memory. Also TI-82's kick the crap out of TI-83+ anyday.
