86 fans, take heart, though your poor calc is getting trashed mercilessly in this thread. A few months from now, those who opted for the more expensive 83+SE will realize that they're barely using the FLASH memory, they're still cramped for RAM, and none of their games work. They'll be BEGGING for 86's.
You'll have your revenge. :-)
And as for those who think they've got a better deal with their 83+SE than my 89 ... you're out of your mind.
The 83+, 86, and 89/92+ all have places and are all good. The 83+SE, being more expensive and less advanced (mathematically speaking) than the 86, seems absurd.

I do a lot of games programming and animations, ect. If I come up with something for the 83+ Silver, but It doesn't look good for the 83+, then I don't see the worth in the advanced tech. In a few years or possibly less time, when more people have the calc, maybe. But not now. It looks nice and all, but I just can't see the good for my trade.

I am not considering the TI-83 Silver Edition as I have spent a fortune on a TI-86 last year! (January 2000)

TI is hoping to catch the last of the Pokemon frenzy in an attempt to "colorize" all of its merchandise, following Nintendo's enterprising example.

I probably will. After all, throughout high school, I've gotten to use 82s and occasionally 83s, they just seem so easy to use. (most likely because I'm used to them) Then again, because I'm a collector, I guess I'll have to get the 86 and 89 too. Nooo!..
(btw, I currently have a 80 and 92)

I'm still wondering what a 83 + SE with one of those transparent color slide cases would look like..

Wait, it's 1.5M of flash ROM, not RAM? Nevermind then. There's only 3 83+ flash ROM apps on this site, and most of TI's aren't free.
Guess I won't get it then. After all, the 83+ looks better than the 83+ SE anyways..
