Kinda ironic, cause the first computer program ever was written by a woman. Cobol was also written by a woman...

Cobol caused the Y2K problems.

I'm trying to to be sexist. I just don't think that the above post is really necessary. At least for the Cobol part.

I think that when Cobol was made they didn't worry about Y2K.

Back then they didn't worry that us modern idiots would still be using what they were making...

If I'm not too rusty on my computer history, I believe it was also a woman who suggested a y2k fix in the very begining. But we the men shot it down in favor of the more economic do-nothing aproach to computer engineering.

A female friend of mine has one of those nasty HP's.. When she gets home at the end of the day, her ritual is to hurl it end over end behind her bed (Unless there's homework). She's had this thing for over 6 months now, and the icky thing stil works great - or at least as well as would be expected from a HP...

She just can't figure out why I like the new Defiance Beta on my TI-82... I guess she'd rather write notes...

First of all; males don't rule. Gimmee a break; what would we males do without females? Umm, never mind about that I don't want to go there. Anyway I think you get the idea of what he means by suck and because I'm risking being vulgar I'll stop right now and stick to my orginal idea that there should be more girls out there.

It really makes my day when someone has the patience and thoughtfulness to avoid posting a comment twice. I really appreciate it; it makes the comment board a nicer place for everyone. Thanks a ton amicek.

It's not really the same comment twice though. Notice he left out the word "orginal" in "stick to my orginal idea..." in the second comment. Maybe he meant original. Hmm.

Umm actually I didn't do that on purpose - Why would I want to post something twice? So it was an accident? Is that ok or are those things not allowed anymore?

Yep, Macintosh definently sucks. It doesn't even try to, it just naturaly does by its nature.

Mac rules, Windows suck. Linux and Mac OS are better then windows, Linux is more stable then Mac OS. Mac OS has a better GUI. Basically, All I have to say is Windows Sucks. The only PCs that are good are homebuilt Linux Running Machines. I really shouldn't say PC, to get technical, PC means Personal Computer, the mac is a PC then, I should say IBM compatable, its more procise. Not to start another OS War but Saying that the Mac sucks simply because you don't understand the true system is totally uncalled for.

First of all I'd like to say that Windows is not the best OS out there, but it also has the majority of the market for one reason. Most programs run for Windows. I use windows because I can use 10 times more programs than I could with Linux or Mac OS. They may be more stable, but there not as easy to use or program for. Come on, if your making a program are you goint to make it for Windows where you can sell to over 90% of the market, or the other OS's which all have 10% of the market combined? I'd program for Windows. The only people who program for mas OS or Linux are those who also have the same program availible for Windows, there are no programs made (other than those made by Apple or Linux themselves) exclusively for mac OS or Linux. Any programmer dumb enough to do that would be broke in 2 years. Use common sence.

Well, Red Hat and Caldera (to name two companies that [appearently] got their start on selling Linux) are doing pretty well...and most of the software for Linux is free, and created by either

a) people like the most...ah...*dedicated :)* TI-calculator programmers, except that they're working on a different platform, or

b) large corporations (viz. Corel, Sun) who have money to burn. Their software isn't always free, though. (Although aren't they required to supply full source code? I think they are, under the GNU license...eh, useless thought. )

The only reason that Someone would post a dumb comment about mac os 3 times is that macs are designed to be "idiot proof" (i.e. Not Programable, System mods next to imposible, designed for idiots to use) that must be why some one who likes mac os would post the same dumb comment 3 times.

It sounds like a solid arguement to me. In fact, my own studies have shown that Macintosh, multiple-posts, and low IQ are inseperable. Also, the fact that iMac looks more like a large fruit than a computer speaks for itself.
