Program of the Year is a great thing, but I still miss POTM. There are many programs that really worth the title and it seems a little unfair to choose only one program for the whole year.

Maybe creating POTY would bring back POTM.

There will be a different poll each week, for the different platforms.

I agree! I seriously belive that many programs can recieve the POTM award even if they arent with the most downloads. I have a program thats in its final staged of BETA testing so this program "age of empires 2" in real time for the TI-83+ (basic) definently deserves the POTM award if POTM is still around. Look for "age of empires 2" on ticalc.org in a few short days could be as much as a week :(

Okay, now that you have said such, you shall feel the wrath of a basic program. Make a program and type:
:Lbl a
:Try
:Loop
:Input a
:EndLoop
:Else
:ClrErr
:Goto a
:EndTry
Now run the program. ^_^

Wow! I didn't know a BASIC program could avoid the ON break! That's sweet! Well, I guess you learn something new every day...

Is there anyway to get out of this program without erasing your RAM?!?!?! My calculator is stuck now!!! And I have a few programs in RAM I haven't backed up on my comp yet! I seriously hope there's a way to get out of this...I feel really stupid for doing that on my calc and not on VTI now....

I found if you hit on rapidly enough, it would infact break.

Too late now...I tried everything (well, everything but hitting ON really fast I guess) and just couldn't do it so I ended up erasing my RAM...Most of my good programs I had on my comp already anyway, so it wasn't that big a deal...I learned something new about basic programming though! It was worth it...sort of

I assume you are just having a laugh.

I have to admit basic isn't the best, and on a PC C is, in my opinion easier to use anyway. But, for a calc, for all the functionality basic lacks - the calc hardware lacks it too. And, not all games need to be fast based and hectic (listen to the old man speak).
Though... assembly is still far superior.

Your right, assembly is far superior, but there are some basic programs that are still just as good. I'm not saying that they always are, but a couple of them are. Oh yeah, ion sucks shit! MirageOS is way better!
