This poll is gonna be harder for those who don't own a TI-83+. I'm probably one of the few who doensn't have one. Do you think VTI would run all of these programs? LOL That way I could form some kind of opinion.

Hehe, I think my favorite game for the TI-89 is monster. I don't know why, usually I don't go for break-out games, but there's something addictive about that game.

There's a vote for POTY for _every_ calculator model, right? For my TI-82, I would have to pick between my personal favorites- Super Mario Bros 82, Plain Jump, and Penguins.

I think VTI would, if I could get mine to work. Everytime I try to load a program into it, it says "Transmition error". Can someone please tell my why?

Did you try pressing the ON button? ;) You also need to use a ROM image from OS 1.12 or earlier (for the 83+)

OOOhhh. Okay. I was trying to use OS 1.16. Can I still download 1.12 from ti.com?

Probably not. Ask on assembly-83, or maybe look around on some message boards - I'm sure somebody has a copy of it. I'm at work at the moment, but I may have OS 1.12 at home; I'll check when I get home.

Yeah, it's easier just to find a huge ROM site and download what you need. That's what I did, anyway.

If you need a 1.12 ROM image, I could send you one.

Another question. What's the best assembly shell to use on VTI? I wish I could use Mirage OS, but alas, I can't.

yeah but thats for ti-82 on older versions, even the crash19.006 doesn't support these games, neither does sng, even the PORTED version (by the program authors) crashes the ti-82 with version 19.006...

well i guess the ti-82 POTY would be noprgos.asm, it helped me a lot, but since it-s just for the ti-83/+ it would be the one that turns your screen REAL blues (he he he), i scared a few with it.

Hehehe, I thank you for the comment. I went out of my way to make sure it would take longer than all of my other games. Guess I succeeded when even I can't beat it completely my first time through (course, I didn't really care too, ^_^')

Does anybody remember that old asm program where you could draw stuff like straight lines, circles, and points and it would save it as BASIC code? If you wanted to see it, you would just run the BASIC program. Can somebody link me to this; I can't seem to find it. I'ts TI-83 Plus I think.

I could probably write a basic program that did that...let me know if you're interested. I could do it for BASICally any of the TI calculator because all the languages are pretty much the same. Either respond here or E-Mail me at Jrock7286@aol.com if you're interested! I'd love to start a new project...

no it saves it as like
line(x,y,z,o)
for each line you draw and you just have to run the prgm.

Well, I could make it save it in a string, then you could go in the NEW PROGRAM screen and type RCL str1 or whatever...

BASIC can't do file I/O, unless you know about that Exec stuff. I'd just use C.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Favorite TI-83/TI-83+ Program for 2003?

problem with C is that it is too big/slow to run on z80s, and exec just dosen't exist, so either use one of those utilities that puts BASIC strings into programs, or write an asm program for it.

Wrong! TIGCC converts C to ASM and them optimises it. Kind of like a translator.

Read the comment next time. He said z80, and he's right. The z80 just wasn't meant for a C-like language.
