As I posted at the maxcoderz board:
Ofcourse my vote goes for a MaxCoderz project. I've never used FinnPack and Unit Operations and something like Krolypto might be a nice program but there is no real use for it, so they aren't gonna get my vote. Wolfenstein83 is nice, but Gemeni got there before so the fun was gone.
Then there are PS, DM, MtSQ,GPP. Of which DM, I think is to a simple kind of game to be voted for, considering the other big 3 projects.
It's a really big tie between MtSQ, PS and GPP. Because of GPP we will see all kinds of new games. MtSQ got loads of contents, and PS is just the one and only cool space shooter.

This is a great idea, but what if your favorite program isn't there, like Repton? This game is the one game that I know with adjustable greyscale, to give truly flicker-free greyscale. It's also fun, and supports external levels :)

Thank you :)
But that was all thanks to Duck's GPP, not my coding.
I did add the contrast changing function to his routines though.

Yeah, you made a lot of good programs for the z80. LOL... and I still think skate, as simplistic as it is, is probably the most addictive :-D

Also, the screenshots for that 3D game on your site look really great.

I wrote a 3D game? *confused*
Oh, right, not on calc. D'oh.

LOL, that's okay. Though, actually, now that I think about it, didn't you make some z80 3D engine for something? I think you had a screenshot of something like that on your old site. Also, I think I remember you having a golf game that looked pretty neat...

Yeah, the graphics for that Golf game weren't too bad, but the game was completely unplayable.
Ah well, I'm seeing what I can do with polygon based 3D on my calc now -- I've got a triangle drawing routine so far, and a (very) simple (x,y,z)->(x,y) convertor. Rotating the points... that's the tricky part :)

I've been trying FOREVER to make a somewhat efficient "space curve" program in BASIC...It's SO hard...I finally found this one site on the web (searched google) that had some equation that projects a 3-d Point onto a plane and that helped quite a bit...however, the program still runs slow as dirt...I need to either learn C programming better than I do now or learn ASM...I really want to write some graphing programs that actually graph FAST...rather than in BASIC and having a graph take an hour just to get 12 different views...

yeah I particularly like all the level packs available. Any help on level 20 of Orange World for Mario 1.2/2.0? Cant seem to get over the wall at the start.

BTW Check out my new link. I'm running Apache on my home computer (smc hardware firewalled so dont even think about it) and recently got a DNS for my IP. I wanted to get my own free "lithiumprogramming.com" address, but I couldn't seem to get zoneedit to work with my system. It's a pretty lame design but it renders well in IE and Firebird. The entire site structure is one file, "index4.php". There are some interesting PHP things there such as a Word Find Generator, Pig Latin translator, and Poker, all of which are from the cd out of my php book. More stuff added after i read more. I also made a php clone of willmaster's Master Snooper, but it doesn't provide a direct interface, only to certain selected files (including the main file).

listen to this:
I went to cable-modem.net and took their speed test to see if I could handle a flood of trafic (yeah right i know :) and I got a score of 302K/second. And it was while running apache. And querying apache through my site. See link for a screenshot. I had to take the test through IE, because I cant get firebird to run java. You can see Apache and my site window on the left of the taskbar. I was editing my site at the time so that's why index4.php is open in notepad. Screenshot in PNG format. Shows speed and a lot of the speed test page. 1152x864 image.

Ya know, I think that writing the program is more fun than actually using it. I think BASIC programs have their place too.

And then there's those time in class when you finish the program and involuntarily yell out:

"YES, IT WORKS!!! MUHAHAHAHAHA....oh...um....yeah...so four time 4 does equal 16"

HAHAHA... I've also done stuff like that, too, except I was playing a game. In Biology, I had a random outburst of "NOOOO!! DANGIT! I WAS DOING SO GOOD!" after losing on Penguins 82. :-D A few people looked over, but the class just kept on going. LOL That's pretty much all I did in that class... played on my calculator. Maybe that's why I had so much trouble in Biology...

The nominees are based on the Featured Programs list. There were no BASIC progs featured this year, so none are in the running.

I was going to say something to that effect. There were no "Final Fantasy Tales of Magic" this year. Basically, the BASIC games can't compete this year. I'm one of those sucky BASIC programmers and even I agree that all BASIC games sucked this year, and many other years.

Well, there were definately no enthralling BASIC programs that deserved POTY. but that doesn't mean they suck... well, maybe it does.
