I've gotten over 500 on both of my crappy reeeeally slow versions of Avalanch in 83+ BASIC (dramatic reverb). I should post more, better BASIC (dramatic reverb) stuff I've made.

Hmm, using (Mozilla)"Firebird" it seems the bottom bar is lacking something...

Sorry; make that the bottom of the posts don't render correctly. Oh well. at least it's more stable than IE. of course a legless person on a unicycle is more stable than IE...

What does not regenerate correctly? I've been using firebird for a long time, and never had any problems.. Also, what version and platform are you on?

There is an extra area of white space at the bottom of the posts. I'm using Win 98SE, on a 500 mhz Pentium-3.

Ok. I see it now. That was so minor I didn't even notice it :-)
I'll see if I can find what it is, but since it's not too bad, I won't put too much time into it :-)

Dont worry, you're not the only poor "slowbie" around. I have a 650mhz but its an athlon...
Hehehe if I could find a fast enough download server, I could probably get better modem speed than my comp can take ;)
really

$LMAO @ THIS POLL!
This poll would have to follow with one of the biggest self promoting forum on ticalc ever, so *click*, and here we are...
'Blood Alcohol Calculator' - that I made for the 83 Plus has a surprising 1200+ downloads on it over about 6months :-p And I only made it so that people can learn how drunk they can get, who would've thought :?)

-- REQUEST for ticalc.org FORUM??? POLL for it too?

But it's RANDOM! In the next version, you should input their breath from the linkport and determine their Blood Alcohol Level using input from the port.

Lol, I probably should make something that does that, but then everyone would have to get/make the breathelizer* so it'd cost too much.
BTW, I fixed that MAJOR fkup I had in previous versions, v0.7 actually works and isn't random if you enter your details properly...it never was random, the previous versions just showed twice the actual level (forgot ÷2)

Actually, there is a program that uses the link port as a breathaliser. Can't remember where that was though.

LOL...yeah, it's also really slow compared to Netscape Navigator.

WHAT? Netscape takes about twice as long to open, so IE's "open in new window" is forgivable and plus... the google toolbar. And IE's so sleek if you customize it right.
I have the title bar on top (with the words Microsoft Internet Explorer regedited out)
Next bar I have the menus, then the googe toolbar with nothing on it except the search box, search button, popup count(492 before firebird), and autofill. Next to autofill is the links bar with ticalc.org,homestarrunner,and flashplayer.
On the next bar, I have Back, Forward, Stop, Refresh, Home (google), Favs, History, Print, Edit Page, and Full Screen.
And there it is, a top bar that takes 5% of the screem area. Sleek. Of course firebird is better, and I could get EVERYTHING on one toolbar (the menu toolbar) but the address bar seems to have a huge invisible border so it makes the Menu Bar unsightlyly huge when its up there.

How do you 'regedit' out the ' - Microsoft Internet Explorer'? I know it's possible, but I never really knew how.

It might be, if it was open source. I like Konqueror and Mozilla better.

I don't really care about the source... not like I'm going to modify it and make my own version of IE- I like it the way it is (EXCEPT for the history).

What I like about open source, is that the program seems to have more "little" touches. Also, Open Source means that a program is far more likely to be ported to another OS. (Like LINUX!)

What do you mean by "little touches?" And I've seen IE for a Mac before... and if I'm not mistaken, they have IE for linux? Yes, no?

No.

There was a brief appearance of a "IE for Unix", but that was for very limited set of platforms (can't remember which, but probably SCO and HPUX or something like that - almost certain about the HPUX part). It wasn't exactly a success, and rapidly dropped.
