That's a whole lot of downloads! I think Virtual TI is one of the most useful tools I've used for programming, especially on multiple calculators. I give a big thanks to Rusty Wagner for this amazing program.

I think this proves that many don't own a TI and just emulate them.
But that's just what I think.

I use VTI for anything, including fooling around with the registers on the 83+ that I got from my friend ;)
I'm currently writing an 83+ emulator for TI-89s (all HW versions), and I use the VTI source code as a model. (Of course, I'll let flash work on the emulator.)

Also, the HP-49G has a serial port AND a link port, RPN built in, startup libraries, speed (despite having a processor that is 1/3 as fast as the 68k usedin the 89), and a company that SUPPORTS third-party and user development. (also, the 49G has builtin grayscale, supported by the OS, as well as the compiler and assembler that are built in)

blah blah...Rusty really needs to update VTI to run the latest ROMs (and flash stuff). I'm sure he doesn't have time, but why not release the source to the community so that other's can keep working on that great emu (or perhaps someone he knows)? it's just sad to see such a great emu not being worked on anymore.

I think so too. It's SOOOO much easier to send a file to VTI to test it than to send to it your calculator. I especially LOVE the fact that if VTI crashes, then you can just load it up again without saving your "crash". The calculator can't do that.

I've been wanting to ask this FOREVER, but never really did.
TISSHOT doesn't support all the new skins for VTI. I find that really annoying when I can only take animated screenshots of my TI-82, and not, say, my TI-89. Does ANYBODY out there have the older skins somewhere for download? I NEEEEED them because I can't use TISSHOT on the newer VTI and I haven't found any older versions of it anywhere for download, so PLEASE somebody help no_one! :)

Just turn off the skin so you only see the LCD screen, and then it will work.

Yup...
I upgraded my PC from Win95 to Win2K, then re-imported the registry file. TiSShot runs, and creates a blank gif file, size 0 bytes. I do not know why (not). I have found another program that works, however.

Win2K is a bit odd, though- I had an SB16PCI in my PC, and occasionly it would halt then reboot at the login dialog. I have since replaced it with an SB16ISA, (for that authentic tinny DOS midi, as PCI doesn't work in DOS on certain games). Now it blue-screens-of-death me when I shut down.

There's one possible source of your problem. You should NOT have reimported the registry. The registries for different versions of Windows DON'T work corectly with each other. If you want to keep your registry, you do an 'upgrade' installation instead of a 'new' installation. ONLY re-import your registry if you're RE-installing the SAME operating system.

In fact, since you reimported the registry, some *other* program might not work.

Actually, I upgraded from Win95, keeping all old programs &c, then reimported the TiSShot registry file into the Win2K registry.

Well, sometimes even the 'upgrade' doesn't work right... I did a 98 to XP upgrade just to check, and there was a lot of stuff that didn't work. Oh well. Good luck.

Not only does Windows crash ... MSN was down yesterday! (I'm not anti-Microsoft, FYI. Just an interesting fact.)

I also used to have that problem with TISShot. I forgot what I did. One sec, let me check... ahh... Make sure you're on the desktop and VTI is in the upper left corner. Also, when you save the file, add the .gif extension yourself. Otherwise it won't work. I'm not sure if all that's necessary, though.

I do hate microsuck, but I use MSN email anyways, it's free, and I get no spam or ads, so if I can rip off microsoft, in any way, i'm for it!

I cannot use an American keyboard! The " and @ are swapped, as are the ~ and the ¬. I have had to get used to it, though- Quake uses an American style keyboard driver!

On a British keyboard, it is left of the '1' (where the American keyboard has the tilde). That key also has the pipe (¦) and the reversed apostrophe (`). The hash key (#) has the tilde on it too.

Kind of funny; I just found out that a guy on my floor in my dorm is from England, and saw a British keyboard :-p they have a Pound (as in the currency, not #) symbol where we have a $ key, and the @ is moved somewhere else, and blah blah. Spanish keyboards are really different, too.
