Network Outage
Posted by Magnus on 7 July 2001, 14:56 GMT

As many of you probably noticed, ticalc.org was hit with a network outage friday evening. Due to the bad timing of this (being a late friday evening, and also the time when the only person who could really get to things to check what was wrong (me) was on a flight home from TechEd in Barcelona), the network outage lasted for 15-16 hours. It has now been fixed.

The problem was in the access router from Telia through which all the internet traffic goes.

That same day, Patrick Davidson released Phoenix 1.4. I found it on calc.org, but could not get it from ticalc.org because it was down at that time.

Also, I cannot seem to get Virtual TI 2.5.5 to work for the ROM 1.13 83+. Does anyone else have this problem? The screen is just blank, and I tried to turn it on and raise the contrast, but I can`t get it to work.

When I tried to upload ROM 1.13, it just thought it was another 1.12... I don't think that VTI is compatable with this new ROM version. It says in the docs that the TI-83+'s Flash Memory is not yet fully implemented, so that may be why...

Hey, the 92+ is ok, but the 92 just isn't. It is to the 89/92+ as the 85 is to the 86. It has the same processor, but not enough ram to shake a stick at. that and the 92 had inferior assembly support and no support for C. until there is a TI-Chess for 92, it will never be good enough (unless you're using [tie])

He wasn't "discounting" the TI-92/92+, he was just saying that the TI-89 rules. I have a TI-89 and a TI-83+, and I like both of them very much, but that doesn't mean that I don't like any of the other calculators...

We all know (most of us) that the TI-89 and TI-92 plus are virtually identical besides their obvious differences in size. I think it’s funny to see people defending one over another like there’s some matter of honor at steak. It IS just a calculator. It’s really not worth getting mad and swearing about.

You are in violation of forum rules: 1, 7, 12. Also note that warez are illegal, and advertising them merely makes you a more appealing target for the FBI.

Personally i believe only buisness' should pay for software licenses. Just wait till calc programmers start charging you to use their software. O wait some already do. Looks like the end of free calc software is on the horizon. Calculator Warezz anyone. ^_^

I use warez. However, I won't say what they are, so no company is legally able to sue me.

O gimme a brake, its public knowlege. In fact heres s good link. http://search.gozilla.com/index.php. Its a great search engine. What makes this one special you wonder. Well this one can search ftp's, where the bulk of "free" software can be found. Illustrator9, is now up for grabs, just give me an email.
