I was just going to say the exact same thing. And to everybody who thinks I didn't do it, I didn't do it for publicity. I could care less if you don't believe me....Actually, it's better off you not believing me. It just makes my day a lot better knowing there are total idiots running the internet, and so called "criminals" who are network and computer geniuses. I may have gone off the deep end by doing the DDoS attack, but it was for my own sake. I was kicked off of these forums a hell of a long time ago for swearing once, so I finally came to the conclusion of destroying their connection to the net for a day or two. Only lasted a day tho... So, yeah, if you want to know who this is admins...it's Akromix.. Yup, it's good old me. I remember coming to this site when it was first up. When there was those green buttons on the left and said Ticalc.org at the top frame. I remember the good old days when everything was a-o-k.. Well, time fo sleep now.

Hey TICalc.org people, I know it's off-topic but I thought it would be very constructive...

Have you ever considered putting together a Perl script (or something to that effect) that automatically updated each author's page whenever it was visited? I find it a little strange sometimes to see myself ranked #53 for an entire day, only to come back an hour later and have 100 more downloads (without me knowing it was going on).

I just think it would be nice to have a real-time idea of how well we're doing on here.

Hey, I was thinking the same thing! Cool! The same with uploading of games. Shouldn't they just be uploaded, instead of having to wait about a day or two? The messages take 5 minutes, why don't the uploads? (How long to the screenshots take?!?!) Oh well, the site is nicely layed out.

They do, but I think that's mainly checking for viruses, pornography, etc. etc. not really evaluating the quality or legality of the files. Obviously, some "illegal" stuff gets through (since technically all the Mario and Tetris games are copyright violations, but oh well).

Plus, if there's any good porn, they keep it for themselves :-)

Okay, then, do they check the messages for viruses, or something? They obviously don't delete "bad" messages. So, why does the process take 5 mintues? (Even though, I swear sometimes it's much faster than 5 minutes.)

i think its kind of like email, when you mail someone, they dont instantly get it, it takes a minute or so. so its kind of like that, and depending how much traffic there is stealing bandwidth from the server depends how fast the message gets posted.(correct me if im wrong)

Actually, since this is a CGI script, the data is posted to a file on the servers as soon as you click the 'post' button (and the data transfers, of course). So it's not like e-mail at all.

I think you should e-mail them the suggestions. I don't think they actually look in the message boards too much.
