Corridor 99 Demo Released
Posted by Michael on 9 April 2005, 08:00 GMT
Jeff Wilcox has released Corridor 99 v1.1, a first-person shooter that seems to have a plot and structure similar to that of Doom (at least to me). Corridor 99, for the 89/92+/V200, uses the FAT-Engine that has powered so many of these amazing 3-D games. Please note that Corridor has not been tested on a TI-89 Titanium and that it is labelled as a "demo version."

I have an 89 Titanium. I patched it with GB (4 patches applied) and it runs fine.
However I saved the game (clear key), and when I pressed enter to confirm the save and error dialog box popped-up "Protected memory violation".
Now my calc's stuck on blinking mode between the game screen and the error screen, and it can't be rebooted with 2ND-ON-LEFT-RIGHT. :( I guess I'll pull the batts out.
Despite this, the game's totally awesome. I can't wait for it to get more bugs out of the way :)
As for RAM problems, be sure to COMPLETELY reset all ram and archive everything.

Hey, this looks like a great game, and I hope it's completed sometime, but I noticed it's not titanium tested. Well, I have a titanium and tried it... it dosn't work. Hopefully this can be fixed, because this looks like a cool game.

Awesome game, but the author wasn't joking when he said it should prolly be like the only thing on your calculator... that caching thing takes up like the same amount as the program... ugh. Sorry, this isn't staying on my calc. I had to throw out stuff just to get it to run for a second time so i could uninstall it. I'm unimprssed at that kind of thing, sorry, even though on VTI it's quite awesome.

Okay, we have a textured raycasting engine for games (FAT Engine), we have a wireframe/flat-shaded polygon engine for games (Flatspin), but do we have a texture-mapped polygon engine for games? I sense a programming oppertunity!
