TI-83 Plus & TI-84 Plus Directories Merged
Posted by Michael on 10 September 2004, 02:20 GMT
It's been four months since we added the TI-84 Plus section to our file archives. In retrospect, this was not the best decision. One major developing problem was uninformed 84 Plus users who looked for programs for their calculator and were confused by finding only a few. Bearing in mind that the actual differences between even the 83+ and 84+ SE, the extremes of the series in capabilities, are very minimal, we have merged the two directories together to create the TI-83/84 Plus directory.
We hope that this change will lead to less confusion among new users and also will prevent the duplication of files in both directory structures. If a program requiring the 84+ is uploaded, it would be best to make a note of it in the program description. The only one such far that I'm aware of is Timerize.

Well, from the sound of things this seems to be the way to go for now as there really isn't a whole lot of anything yet that's solely exclusive to only the TI-84+. Good move.
Maybe as more apps roll in the two categories will split again? I'm sure there would become a point where there was a lot more software available that actually took advantage of the internal clock or faster processor (hopefully).

i think that there should be a category inside 83/84+ for programs that require an 84. like a game that has a timer.
