The Return of the Voxels
Posted by Michael on 8 September 2004, 04:33 GMT
The second version of the make-you-drool graphics voxel demo has been released, now utilizing the improved "V2-Engine." Those of you who missed the original article will want to look at the original file to see the improvements. There also is now the VX.Studio, an on-calc tool to create voxel landscapes on the 89/92+/V200. I'm still not sure if it has reached the point of practical applications yet, but eye candy will always have a niche. If nothing else, impress your friends at school.

OK, I'll add one.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this doesn't seem to be extensively documented to the point where a programmer could use voxels in an applied setting.

Does the program use fast methods to print numbers into strings ("itoa") and display strings ? Switching from DrawStr to a fast method boosted Ice Hockey 68k.
