A Pretty Perplexing Plethora of Perspicacious Programs
Posted by Nick on 22 October 1999, 00:31 GMT

A bevy of programs has been released under Ion (AGAIN!) for the 83 and 83 Plus in the past day or so by Sam Heald of Void Productions.

In no logical order:

FrAWgGuts v1.0: This game is not unlike the classic Frogger for the old Atari systems. You need to navigate a frog across a busy highway and onto a safe lilypad. You can download it for the 83 and 83 Plus.

Z-Kart 3D v1.0: This game is a port of the classic Z-Kart 3D game for the 85. Download it for the 83 and 83 Plus.

Z-Kart v1.0: This game is like Z-Kart 3D, except... uh, less 3-D :) It's featured in the screenshot above. You can snag this for the 83 and 83 Plus.

Picross v1.0: My personal favorite, this game is ported from the game by Andreas Ess. You need to form a predetermined picture in a limited amount of time using logic. 83 and 83 Plus versions exist.

Pac-Man '99 v0.5: This game is... well, Pac-Man. I don't think I need to elaborate further. 83 and 83 Plus.

Galaxian v1.0: Galaxian is a game like Space Invaders and Phoenix. Get it here for the 83 and 83 Plus.

*phew* :)

Geez Nick... enough with the alliteration! Any walking dictionary out there want to tell me what perspicacious means?

Nope. East TN. It wouldn't happen to be a "Faculty Retreat" for your school, would it?

P.S. Noah Wenster Spent 35 years his dictionary. He favored the colonist pronuciation of words over the British, giving rise to the way we speak today :)

Heh... actually, www.m-w.com. The word "perspicacity" is a reference to the Simpsons episode where the teachers go on strike. Ironically, this is also the episode where the phrase "purple monkey dishwasher" originated.

Lisa: "...Nor can I yield, nor relent, nor.. uh.... ONLY TWO SYNONYMS?! I'M LOSING MY PERSPICACITY!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAH"

The mac platform is not a crummy platform.

Anyone who says this
(X)Sucks
( )Has windows
( )Has linux
(X)Must not have an open mind
(X)Never Tried to full os
(X)Hates how schools limit what you can do on them
(X)Does not own a G3 or G4

Try
(X)the full capibilitys before making theses types of statements.
(X)The actual OS not At Ease
( )Windows
( )Linux
(X)Saying things non offenceive to owners of all three of those mentioned platforms.
(X)The new Mac OS 9 with voice print
(X)Saying sorry
(X)Buying the newest G3
( )Being stupid (This was added for another non checked item)

I would like to say
*This is a return flame
*This was flame bait and a defence for my faviorite platform, 2nd linux, 3rd Windows
*I hope you will no longer flame mac fans.

P.S. Don't say to try windows or Linux. I have them all.

Up to this point, I thought no one had made a comment about the words you chose for the article title. It's 7:30 am, and all I see is a bunch of words beginning with the letter 'P', a couple of which appear to be about.. ohh.. 60 or 70 letters long. :)

man... u posted your definition 8 minutes before me!
well i have to comment again on why the 83+ isn't a bad system.... the 83+ is pretty much what the people who just started using graphing calculators get... it is only a few dollars more than the 83+ and is pretty much the only calculator the average high schooler needs... so for that reason, the 83+ is a pretty good calculator to get, and people who get 83+'s, some of them will end up programming for it and that is why more people are starting to program for it, plus the other calculators are more expensive, so there are less people who have it, hence less programmers... so don't go out ther just getting mad at people for not programming on your calc... if u don't think there are enough games for ur calculator... go and start programming for it urself... there are plenty resource...
man... i didn't think i could write all this :)
i hope people pay attention!
