Street Fighter II v0.19 Beta
Posted by Kirk on 8 May 1999, 18:41 GMT

Thomas Corvazier has made a web page available to the public. The web page, among other things, contains the pre-release version 0.19 of the program that was previously posted here; v0.18 for the TI-89 and the TI-92 Plus is available from ticalc.org, while both v0.18 and v0.19 are available at the Street Fighter II web site. English users will want to use Babel Fish or another translator to translate the page from French to English.

I wait on releasing the pokemon beta to avoid competing with SF2 for Program of the Month -- and look what happens, they release a BETTER version!

I recommend everyone check out the SF2 website BEFORE downloading the new version - I can't read French, but they released versions 1.18 (stable) AND 1.19 (buggy), both with all the fighters. . .

Wow!! Thats all I've got to say......

NAH!!

It's about time that this game gets some recognition!! This is one of the greatest games EVER that has yet to been released for the calc... I cant even fit all the characters on my calc!!! (which makes me glad that TI's releasing a new OS) This game SHOULD win program of the month!!! WOW!!!

Haven't been online in awhile.

What's this about a new OS from TI?
What's up with that?

In fall of 99, TI is coming out with advanced mathmatics software version 2.0 for the 89 and 92+. They are also coming out with the geometry software for the 89 about the same time.

Advanced Mathematics 2.0 will reallocate the 89 memory to create a total of 600k of memory.

This game sounds great, but I am a little concerned about installing this game since my 89 will often crash when I have multiple games stored. (Especially this game because it looks so big and probably had quite a few bugs).

And the TI92+ will get too 600K Mem?
Or only the 89? And i think that the TI-upgrade is freeware. is them so?

There's an online on-the-fly translator, though not perfect, still better than nothing. :)

Click Web Page to go there.

I really like the way that you get a bug report screen instead of having your calculator crash. It really saved me a lot of time. The game is just incredible. I feel the same way I did the first time I played Penguins. It is just one of those great games that make you feel warm and fuzzy.

I think you can credit Xavier for that - he added the ability to change the exit code on a crash into Doors. . .

anyone notice that almost anything good for the 89 has the word 'Xavier' somewhere in the 'written by' section? perhaps ticalc needs a new section: man of the year.

I formally nominate Xavier.

I second that nomination. . . but you have to add Rusty Wagner, author of Plusshell -- Xavier said he couldn't have developed Doors without it. . .

I am one of the only people at my HS with an 89. Whenever they saw me playing the other version, hey couldn't beleive their eyes. TI should use this game in their ads, it could really boost sales.

It could boost sales to bored students, but it also could hurt their reputation with teachers and profesionals by giving them the impression its a gameboy and not calculator

I must say that since the release of games such SMQ or Zelda, it becomes hard to make the difference :)

Not exactly. When was the last time we saw any
progress at all on any of the Zelda games for the
Ti-Calculator? And another thing, whatever
happened to FF:TC? All these programs were
s'posed to be released awhile back, and yet they
never seemed to progress beyond demos...

...well, that's just like in the real games industry... altough I must admit that it's not the best part of it.
