I've been coming here ever since I got my graph-link at Christmas of last year. I had to use my dad's calc and trade off with my sister but now I have an 89 and it rules!

P.S. I have a friend that thinks 83's are better than 89's. Feel free to leave comments.

P.P.S. Anyone heard anything about StarCraft II yet?

Anyone notice how ticalc.org has an 89 on the top of their page when you load it up? Is this just for show or is ticalc like 89 over the rest?

Also, does anyone know what graph is shown on the screen in that picture?

I don't know EXACTLY what graph it is, but it looks something like z(x,y)=cos(sqrt(x^2+y^2)) ["sqrt" means the square root symbol].

How many hours did you sit in front of your calculator trying to figure that one out?

Not long. I've done many graphs of this nature already.

Nah. We just had to choose *some* calculator, and that one was arbitrary. But it looks nice, don't you think?

83+s still rule for high school, and they will untill ti makes the 86+, or probably the "Trip 300 PLT", bundled with DoorwaysOS 86 port (I can't help it, H@ys is implanted in my conciousness).

I'll give you that. But I will be taking PreCalculus Honors next year (10th grade), with AP Cal year after, and BC Cal AP after that, or somthing close to that, and I need something that will get me through it all right. The 83 Plus doesn't seem to offer that kind of support. Unless someone know how to do ADVANCED Calculus on a TI-83 Plus. If you do, I will be amazed seeing what it says on the box.

TI make a TI-86+? I don't think so. Last I talked to TI CARES, the TI-86 is being discontiuned. My cover lost one of the rubber feet. And I wanted to order the a replacement rubber foot for the cover. I was told I had to order a set of 4. And I ordered a set of 4 for $1. + shipping and handling. I got one foot, the curved one, which was not what I needed. Called them back and the person said they would send my the correct foot. I got round rubber feet which were not for the calculator. Called them back a gain, and I was told there is none to be had. The one curved foot for the cover was all there was in stock. They gave me a refund. In the process I was told that the TI-86 is discontued. They are still being sold. But not being made any more. Also the TI-82, TI-83 no longer being being made. The TI-83+ silver and TI-89 and the new one are still being made. So this is what I understood. What is true here is another matter.

Given the zshell heritage of ticalc an 85 would be more appropriate.

It would be very symbolic indeed! Some of our staff worked on ZShell, you know. :) And me... uhhhh.... I used it. Yeah... Actually, I was a beta tester for Usgard and XC-1701 II (external level support? Andi hacked it into the game so I could do levels and then left it in there at my request...uhh, more like constant pleading).

I love my TI-85. But most people have 83s and 89s now, so those're the most recognizable. But like I said, I'm fairly certain it was a random choice.

I've been coming here since Zshell went to version 4. I'm not sure which year that was but I think I had to upgrade.

My school sent home a paper that said we had to have TI-35s for math and I filled in the 3 to look like an 8 so that my mom would get me an 85. I just wanted it for the games that I saw other kids playing. I'm glad I did that because high school was BOARING.

I have been coming since my ninth grade year when I inherited my sister's 83. She only had two games so I arrived here by accident, looking for some new ones. when I got my SE I started coming here daily. I am still trying to fill it up with asm games. So anybody who can do ASM keep going.
w00t!!! (that is fun to say)
