Has it occurred to anyone that the only people who would vote on the surveys or have an account (it's needed to vote) are the people who visit this site at least weekly?

I just thought about that. You're right. Even worse, those are about the only people making comments, too.

That's not exactly what I meant. I'm not talking about the frequent visitors posting comments like trees in a forest; I'm talking about the unfrequent visitors hardly posting comments at all. And the ones with no account can't post anyways.

Funny isn't it?
It shows how many people know a good website when they see one.

What concert band are you in? I'm in the Lowell High School concert band. We just won 1st place in a band competition in virginia(for concert bands. I play the Trombone and Baritone. Does your band do any conmpetitions?

(This has nothing to do with the survey question does it? Oh well.)

We're not quite that good.....(in a different band too, someplace in Northern NJ). But, our marching band is going to be in Disney's Main Street Parade! (BIG parade, 3rd most famous in the nation: Rose bowl, Macys Main ST)

Lets see. Our band is very small(12-23). So we have to march single or double file to take up adequate space in a parade. Next year however we are recieving 30 freshmen drummers!!! We might as well be the Lowell drum line with instruments to back it up!! Oh well. Your band must be pretty big to be marching in a parade that famous. We march in some local parades and do field shows at football games but that's about all we do for marching.

30 PERCUSSION?!?!?!?!? WOW!!!....we got 3 new ones.

Well, yes, we are larger than 25, I know that about 120-130 people are going on the trip to Florida (chaperones included), but don't quote me on that (like you'd need to). Our band got so big that it had to split into 2 seperate bands to accomodate everyone.

And there is a senior in my band who got me interested in more 'advanced' calc programming, and I accredit him with starting me on my journey to make games and other such pograms. So, this is where band and TI's tie in for me.

My interest in Ti was started by my 8th grade algebra teacher. She started using Ti-83's with the whole class. At the end of that year I bought a Ti-82. At the begining odf this year I bought an 86. I've had to buy three more because I kept losing them. This summer I'm going to buy a Ti-89. Besides of the competition that my band just got back from we don't do any other competing. However we do do a lot of concerts. Today we're performing at the middlesex community college. Next week we have two concerts and the week after that we have a parade to march in. Lotsa fun!!!

I am in Illinois, Leyden High school band. We have Concert band, Wind symphony, Symphonic band, Orchestra, and Marching Band. All are separate bands with separate people in them. I am a percussionist in Concert band. I have no time in my schedule to go to any other band. We were already at Disney this past spring break and we got the worst time to play! We marched at Epcot BEFORE THE MAIN PARK OPENED. No one really cared since we all were in the middle of Florida having fun. Calculators and Band. I do not see the connection, but it exists somewhere.

My band never does anything like that. Get this. Yesterday we got out of the whole school to go to a college down the street and play for two senators that didn't arive for 45 minutes after we were done. There wasn't anyone else there so it was basically an outdoor rehersal. This i the Lowell public school system at large. The good thing was that it got me out of class for that friday.

Yay! Another percussionist! I usually only play mallet percussion now, though. Damn freshmen take all the drum parts.

Our Band is going during school, so we get to miss 3 days of the school week. Last year, for our trip / band festival we had some bigshot conductor come in and listen to us play, and then we went off to Midevial Times. As usual, our knight lost.

Still, we'll go marching down Main Street with old drums that are missing the foam mufflers, and harnesses that tend to fall apart (one of our bass drummers, his fell apart at least 3 times - that and he almost knocked his teeth out when he fell on his drum, but all this is another few stories), but I'm looking foward to going. I'll probably be the only one who brings my calculator...

What is the deal with accounts anyway!?

If some poor soul didnt really know about ticalc.org and stopped by once, and wanted to vote, he couldnt. He/she couldn't even post a comment about a program. Now, I think we should have a 'Guest' login for the occasional wandering vagrent with an opinion without him having to go through the hassle of creating an account to make 1 post and have his name here forever taking up space programs could fill! *PUFF PUFF* Sorry, run-on. Oops;fragment. Never mind.

I kind 0f see why the accounts are in place, to make sure noone votes twice, to make sure people who make purely negative comments/advertising on the boards, but is that really a problem here?

Also, there is nowhere we can go and post random thoughts. I want to know if there is any progress on 3d lib demo( and other programs too!) but there is nowhere i can go to really post a free-lance comment or ask questions about programs/programming/people. Instead i have to sneak the comments in long comments on a poll or news item.

There is always RFC but, if its not a big deal that's out of the picture.

Alas...
AND we dont get to pick our own passwords, forced to use arcane combinations of characters. Luckily i have mine on my TI (The irony).

Anyway...
Random thoughts/dreams.

Even if they have more memory, they're (1) useless for math, (2) sadly lacking good free software, and (3) sometimes banned at schools.
