Napster!
Did anyone watch Channel One News' coverage of Metallica's lawsuite? It was very poorly reported in my opinion (even more than Channel One has done on other stories). First of all, they mentioned all the facts, such as the list of around 300,000 names of copyright violators, but failed to actually state that the group was Metallica. (Yes, I know there are other lawsuites pending, but they were obviously talking aobut this one.) I don't see any reason for them to do that other than to leave information out. Also, they stated that Napster was in trouble because of the copyright violating mp3's "on its website." To the best of my knowledge, that is down-right wrong! Napster doesn't have mp3's on its website; they are on people's computers. Thanks for listening to my general complaint. It's nice to have a vent somewhere.
Side note: I was wondering if Visual Basic scripts work properly on Macs. Specifically, I'm wondering about the iloveyou virus.

Channel 1? I hate that program! I've seen it, like, 4 times this school year, and the year ends in a WEEK. The graphics are corny, the announcers are fags, and the stories look like they were thought up by a horde of rampaging blue monkies!
Oh, and about Metallica's lawsuit..
I believe Metallica will lose. The lawsuit under copyright infringemnt has no foundation. Napster does not store the songs on their database, nor does it create MP3's by itself, it, in basic terms, is just a program, like chat or ICQ, that connects computers so that they may trade MP3's and other audio files. The program did not break any laws.
However..
The MP3.com lawsuit was ruled on April 28th, that the company(MP3.com) is found guilty of grand copyright infringement and is ordered to pay anywhere from $1,000,000 to $6,000,000,000 in lost funds.
