I voted for the community forum, but I think the archives, more specifically the lax submission requirements are a more immediate problem. (How many times have you seen fully BASIC programs claiming "grayscale"?)

You've got nothing to worry about - your BASIC grayscale really works! :-D

that could be an idea, it would be easier to moderate than those comment and project pages and people complaining about crappy basic programs would discourage people uploading their number guessing games. however as someone said above there is alerady too many calc forums out there(Omnimaga, Revsoft, MaxCoderz, Unitedti, TI-Freakware, Cemetech, Calchaven, ticalcs.net, viewer designs, calcgames, calcforge, tict, yaronet 68k, yaronet z80, TI international forum, tigen, ti-bank, ti-jon, rivereye studios, alex10819 productions, ti programming union, Techicalc forums, Nerdy productions, etc... I'm sure I forgot some)

Since many 68k programs work on multiple calculators, it doesn't really make sense to have separate archives for each 68k calculator. Instead, there should be only one 68k archive, but it should be noted which calculators each program works on.
I have a TI-89 Titanium, and at the moment to find useful programs I have to look through the TI-89 archives and just hope stuff works.

every recent TI-89 file should work on the titanium. for the older files you can patch them whith ghostbuster and they should work. the 89 is in most respects the same calculator as the titanium.

true, but again, programs should perhaps be tested to see if they work on the titanium

generally the ones that don't work on the titanium haven't been updated in a wile so testing is irrelevant.

I really think the archives need to be subdivided further. Some of the archive pages are gigantic, and it'll make things easier to find. Like if you want an astronomy program you don't have to look through a folder that has 100s of biology, general chemistry, electrical, civil, mechanical, or chemical engineering programs.

I don't see the need for a ticalc forum. There are 10s (if not hundreds) of ti forums out there where you can talk about whatever. And for some topics we don't need duplication: There exists a single english TIGCC programming forum, asking english tigcc questions anywhere else is a waste of time.

I would actually settle for more sorting options. Maybe your idea is good that you should submit it as a type of program. Maybe there should be the same amount of folders , but for example, the Science Section could be sorted by type.

I think it would be nice if you could filter the search results for various calc types.

Ex: You search for a "quadratic formula" program, and get 10000 results. Wouldnt it be nice to filter out all the 86 or 89 or whatever you are looking for.

I find it annoying to search through 50 files to find one that will work on my calc.

Thanks

I voted other. ticalc.org REALLY is out of date content wise. Seriously, your user submitted links are missing the 83+! nothing about TilEm on the emulator page.

USB directlink is missing from profile page.

all references to 89Titanium, and 84+SE are absent. update your page.

I agree that some little things like ths could be updated, and some more major ones like the archives, but I like the web site as a whole.

And does anybody know why HTML tags are not alowed?

Does anyone on the staff know how/have time to write code that can parse text to find tags that pose a security threat?

Well, because you can do stupid things with almost any HTML tag and mess up the layout. It's better just to leave them off.
