i didnt mean to sound as stuck up as THAT...i used to use my dads old 82 after my first 83+ crashed and went to calculator heaven (i was attempting to program in hexidecimal--dont try that at home). i must say i do find some solace in the blue screen and the square buttons *winks*

Who uses TI-82's nowadays, anyway? Only those people that don't have the other calculators. I don't have an 82, although I think that they will start costing some money pretty soon.

"Who uses TI-82's nowadays, anyway?"

Well, obviously, at least 20-some people who've voted on this poll. :-P

"Only those people that don't have the other calculators."

That's not true, I like the list editor for the TI-82 much better than the APP equivelant for my TI-89 (I don't know why, I just do), so for statistical or regression stuff, I use my TI-82 rather than my TI-89.

"I don't have an 82, although I think that they will start costing some money pretty soon."

Why would they "start costing some money pretty soon?" Wouldn't the price _drop_? As TI makes new calculators, its price should become lower. They're not THAT old (came out in '93, I believe), so the "antique" factor isn't relevant. I don't understand what you mean.

I've never owned a TI-82, nor did I get the chance to, because I entered the TI calculator scene long after the TI-82 had been discontinued and was no longer available. My first calculator was a TI-83 Plus, but I've since given that away. I currently own 3: TI-89, TI-89 Titanium, and TI-84 Plus Silver Edition. The next one I want to get (if it's still available, that is) is the TI-86.

Scratch that - I actually owned one of those Casio color graphing calculators before I got a TI-83 Plus. I didn't like the Casio very much - I found it to be difficult to program compared to TI's calculators.
