I don't own one yet, but I might get a 89 Ti, I'll have to see. By the way, I'm back from my 2 months at Boy Scout camp.

Of course. And I also discovered that one of my friends on staff had actually downloaded and loved one of games, but never realized it was written by me.

Wow. What are the chances of that? *expects someone with too much spare time will answer*

I'm sure Patrick Davidson had that happen to him quite a few times.

I want to get an 89Ti, but I want a lot of the ASM progs that only work on the 89. Has anyone found a way to get them to work at all? If you have, then I'll buy an 89Ti ASAP. Otherwise, I'll have to contemplate some more.

My old one broke, so you didn't see any new programs for a while. Maybe I'll make some more now that I have one again =D

I still need some ideas though :p

Next generation? New? ???

I don't intend on buying one of these calculators. They are just the older models with some extra memory and a couple additional features.

But if you don't have an AMS or are just getting into the market, you shouldn't get an 83+ just to make a statement to TI.

I currently do not own an 84+, 84+SE, or an 89T, but I would love to get one to replace my stolen TI-83. Heck, since I'm a TI collector, I'd get all three if I had the money, but I think an 84+ will suit me just fine. ~Chucky

Hmmm...I picked "don't have any and don't plan to buy any", but that isn't completely true, since I would happily buy an 84+SE if I suddenly got a few thousand dollars, or if someone gave me one for some reason, or something like that.

a few thousand? they aren't even a few hundred.... ;) Although even if someone gave me even a few thousand I wouldn't buy one...I'd buy a top-of-the-line laptop...

If you think about it, a few thousand could get you all the calcs that TI has ever made. Or maybe turn that Voyger 200 into a laptop of its own. All it needs is a hard drive of some sort and maybe double the memory.

I know their price-what I meant is that if I got a few thousand dollars, I would spend about a quarter of it on CDs, then maybe buy a Les Paul, a digital modeling amp, a second Strat to modify, then an 84+SE.

for a couple hundred you could get a DigiTech box. I have one and it does almost everything.
If I had a couple thousand dollars, I'd save up for a car.

A few grand? That'd cover books for a year and maybe a month's rent...college is too darn expensive!

AMEN! I'm just going to a community college until my scholarship runs out because I can't afford ASU (Arizona State University) yet...I got a full tuition (15 Cr?) scholarship which I ended up having $118 left of for books and supplies. It worked out perfectly...I spent $111 on books on half.com and amazon.com, $3 on a binder, and $4 on a 6-subject notebook...111+3+4=118 dollars exactly. What a deal. And I'm still living at home, so Monthly rent = $0 ;)

Agreed. A lot of what is said and posted on this site is the result of people generally not needing to hold paying jobs or market their skills (freeware, Linux distribution strategy, revealing of source to complex programs, willingness to put professionals out of work for no apparent reason, etc.).

You "accidentally" got a five-finger discount on more calculators than you intended? Now you got caught, so they're going back? :-D
