who cares about the time, it's still Christmas vacation! today and tomorrow is all..... sniffle.
BTW has anybody noticed how cheap a gamecube is now? its USD100 for the console, a controller, the original Zelda, Zelda II, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and a preview of WW, all on one disk, for free. 100 extra bucks and you can get yourself WW, Mario Sunshine, and a 256mb memory card.

And the games are cheap too, 30-40 (50 on brand spankin new releases) dollars as opposed to the almost guaranteed 60-70 on Xbox... man that thing's ugly :)

You can get yourself Pikmin, SMB, SSB:M, for all 100

Of course, you can't beat calculator games...free!

And, the added bonus of being to use them at school with little chance of being caught (if you're clever enough, or your teacher is ignorant to believe that the smart kid is just sitting there doing weird math functions)!

bring in your XBox. it's so huge and ugly, maybe it could be passed as a beefed-up calculator. I mean, after all, it's controls are are about as awkward as the pre-8x series graphing calcs. Say that you're working on new 3d graphing. Have the source code on-hand when your teacher catches you and asks what equation graphed [italic]that[/italic] environment. Then there's the problem of a TV. They have flip-up LCD-screens that you can attatch to the back of your Gamecube for $100. Maybe you could buy a 50" HDTV to hook onto the back of an XBOX. It would match the size... and weight too :) Or maybe there could be invented some way to decode AV signals coming into the link port via a coaxial cable. I have 3 nintendo RF modulators for my VCR-less gaming tv. Maybe I could hook it up to my gamecube with some kind of i/o switch so that I could use my calc as a terminal for the console. I could use the arrow keys as the control stick, the number keys as the C-stick, and the keys on the left for the rest. Game output would be displayed on the screen. You wouldn't be able to read any words. And you would have to have the client program do something so that the entire screen isnt black with all the details, like a 50-level greyscale. Of course, while recieving [emphasis]streaming[/emphasis] data, the linkport would also have to send button input continuously (which would require mods to the console if it doesn't already work that way) to power the cube (which would definately require mods). Wow. You're going to need some big 'ol batteries :)

But that's an idea, isn't it? have some kind of hardware 3d graphics processor that uses alternating datastreams to communicate to the main processor. Or heck, why a 3d processor? use a background-running asm program to redirect all cpu requests to the linkport where a faster cpu (gba perhaps? or even an x86-class!) would be plugged in. It wouldnt be of much use streaming, like with 3d gfx, but with complex computations, like advanced math, it would be a miracle!

have you guys seen diagrams about how Hydrogen Bombs work? its incredible!
There is a bunch of deuterium and tritium inside a big ring of atomic bombs. The bombs are all triggered by TNT. The force of the bombs force Nuclear Fusion upon the deuterium and tritium. The escaping energy (1 extra neutron per new hydrogen atom I believe), already at 50+ times a normal atomic blast, bombards the bomb casing, which is made of uranium. So it makes nuclear fission /AGAIN/ to further brace the strength of the blast. Whew. Check out the link, its pretty awesome.
And also, did anybody ever look up plutonium? It's constantly breaking down, so its always warm. A big enough chunk is hot enough to boil water!

Just curiouse... why do you keep on comming out with all of these rule comments? I'm not sure if you're part of the staff or not, but if you think about it, posting about the Ticalc.org message reply rules is actually kindof off topic, so maybe we could leave those out as well?

Yes. I know exactly how atomic and hydrogen bombs work. The question is though, do you know exactly how fission and fusion work (if you even know the difference)? (Don't put that in a smart alecy context. I didn't meen for it to sound like that)
