Wasn't there actually someone who first thought that Pi was equal to 3? I heard that somewhere before...

Actually, Pi has almost always been a little more than three in ancient civilizations (i.e. the Chinese, the Babylonians, the Mayans, etc). I think that the Jewish and Christian religions depict that pi is exactly three, though.

Pi has nothing to do with Christianity...... there's just a description (somewhere) of the area of some circular bowl place... and it talks about how far around it is and how far across it is, and the constant found by dividing the circumference by the diameter is about equal to pi... 3.14156 or something, I don't remember.

When I said "Pi has nothing to do with Christianity" I meant that we don't care what pi really is :-p

There was somewhere in the Bible where pi = 3. However, it was due to a difference in measurements. They were measuring the basin at the water line and not at the… forget it. It's to complicated.

It depends on who you ask. If you ask...

Me: -1i(ln -1)

no_one: 3.141592653589...

A mathematition: Pi is a number that expresses the relationship between the diameter of a circle and it's circumfrance.

A physicist: Pi is 3.1415927 plus or minus 0.000000005.

An engineer: Pi is about 3

Lol, engineer jokes are always good... best one I heard, a preist, a lawyer, and an engineer are about to be executed. The preist is put into the guilotine, it dosen't go. He says it must be an act of divine intervention, and walks off. The lawyer goes up, it dosen't work again, he says he can't be punished for the same crime twice, and leaves. The engineer is put in, looks up, and says, "hey, wait, I think I see the problem here..."
