Your comment violates the new guidelines. You saw them right? Can you still see right after reading all that red text? :)

Welp, I have never opened up my 86 (only calc) but when I get my 89, the 86 will become testing ground for all those nifty addons, in fact, I'm upgrading the z80 to a Pentium II xeon and installing a 56k speaker modem. Not to mention a 120volt handheld powersupply. I will attach a 7 PCI slot case to the back where the battery compartment used to be.

</end joke>

I am also going to try stuff with my TI-86 after I get my TI-89 in a few months (I have a suspition that there will be a new HW version after AMS 2.00 is released), although I might wait untill the warranty on my 86 expires.

I have no idea - I can barely see right. Can't wait for that new preference feature.

The "First Comment" is a timeless tradition.
At least he added some content unlike other people.

I've never opened my calc, but I have thought about it to add some of the neat additions listed on this site (background screen lighting, etc.). I'd probably totally screw up my calc though if I tried it.

Right, but "first comments" are a violation of the new guidelines. :)

But the new guidelines aren't specific. They say that "Messages containing 'first comment' boasts, requests for game ports, or criticisms of 'newsworthiness' will generally be deleted." I know that they say 'contains', but they are referring to a few different things. They also say "generally", meaning not always. I would like to know if they mean ANY post with 'first comment' in it or just ones that ONLY contain 'first comment'.

I never opened my calculator, but one time I had to put all of the keys back into an old typewriter, without a keyboard to guide me.

It's intentionally vague, because sometimes a post may have other things to say that we consider redeeming. If it just says "first comment," be fairly sure we will delete it.

Any further comments on this thread should be directed to us in email. Thanks.

Also note that ticalc.org has qualified their guidelines with the fact that they will delete any comment they deem inappropriate, regardness of whether or not it follows the guidelines or not.

So basically, they will delete whatever the heck they want to.

Turns out it's our site, too.

I'll ask you again not to follow this thread in this forum; this has nothing to do with the survey. Continuing to post about this issue in unrelated message boards will be considered abuse, and that goes for everybody.

Send your comments to us in email.

Chris

all you who have said, ahh red!!, AHHHHH RED!!!, its killing me!
Also, I didnt post a "first comment", I was saying that i wanted to find out what yall been doing but I was first here so i couldnt, now i know--COME ON PPL!! BREAK YOUR CALC!!!!=)
if ya said no, hey just unscrew the 2 screws at bottom, and the backup batt one, then pop the 4 plastic things(I am talking of 86) open gently with a flat head screwdriver, then look around, it looks cooL! I am going to add a swicth to go between overclock and normal once i get a better calc, i am gonna wait for a new kind, yet when i do, i will have to be one of the first prgmers for it and make a shell or games or something!
Just to tell you, if you dont want ANY chance of breaking your calc yet you want to see inside, "BORROW" a friends.... Thats what i did, well i didnt know it was his...same thing though=)
)3ye )3ye, have to go turn the RED WORDS off in prefs.

You did indeed post a "first comment" post. You said:
