Jimmy Mårdell, author of many great programs and games in our archives (anybody heard of ZTetris? Sqrxz?) has just won the Google CodeJam. See an article about it from The Mercury News. A great big congratulations to Jimmy!

Congradulations to Mr. Mårdell. Personally, I am a slow worker, finishing class tests and programs with taking all the time that I am given. To be able to crack programming puzzles not only under pressure, but also in a limited amount of time takes much mind strength and dexterity.
I wish I would have had the chance to become one of the great ones... Maybe I would be able to buy a faster-than-1GHz machine... But of course, we know that this is not about the money. We all know that it is for the advancement of the TI Society, with maybe a little 10,000-dollar reward in the way. Just look at TICALC.ORG: we create programs, waste our time, upload them, and watch the little number on our account move up by people who we don't know downloading our creations. And, we do it without thought of a greater reward than being mentioned on the front page of TICALC for a week or so.
Congradulations, Mr. Mårdell.

Amazing...
Big congratulations! 8-bits coders rule (ok 16-bits too, but not as much). :)
