VTI v3.0 Alpha
Posted by Michael on 24 February 2003, 00:49 GMT

Rusty Wagner and Corey Taylor have been working on a new version of Virtual TI, our most-downloaded file of all time. Available from SourceForge, v3.0 emulates the 73, 83+, and 83+ SE. It even allows for writing to flash, a major issue with 2.5. While there is still much work to be done, this is a significant development and hopefully will lead to a wonderful finished product.

Download the alpha here.

This is great. I've been hoping that a new version would be released!

One problem...

How do I extract the 1.15 ROM from my 83+ SE via the USB silverlink? I get a EA AccessError when I attempt to start the program, but I have no roms, and I cannot seem to find a way to extract the ROM image.

Use the TI-83 Plus Flash Debugger to emulate a SE, then save it. Move the .clc file into the same directory as VTI, and then you can emulate the SE.

Yea, the silver cable isn't supported in VTI yet, mainly due lack of development earlier and didn't have a silver cable yet.

You can do an actual dump with TiLP if you want but the .clc works.

It crashes every time I send a RAM file to it... but it runs MirageOS (albeit v..e..r..y....s..l..o..w..l..y)

How do you save a .clc? I can only save 83d (or something to that nature)

I agree! w00t!

But we don't know if he actually made this version. He was an author of the project, but that could just mean that he was the author of the previous versions. Corey Taylor could have done it all... we should ask him. :)

1223 files in pending now... it's getting bad *cry*

So are there going to be new TI-73 roms floating around now? lol This should be good for 73 programmers, if there are any. What's the assembly language for a TI-73? The processor is z80, right? Has anybody written any shells for the TI-73? Oh well.

Were they in flash? Are there any shells for regular 73 asm?

because, I was paid to do it.

Yes, it was flash. I didn't have any time then to even consider working on a shell, so I never thought about it :)
