Quick Updates
Posted by Nick B. on 30 July 2002, 21:02 GMT
With the last weeks of summer vacation ticking away, back-to-school season is once again upon us. However, the last couple of weeks of July were not completely inactive in terms of new releases, so let's have a look: - Joe Flint released The King of Fighters 2000 for the TI-83 and TI-83 Plus. This advanced fighting game has been in development for over two years and includes fourteen playable characters.
- Greg Dietsche has relased KerNO v2.0. Essentially a kernel (of sorts) that provides features for nostub programs, including ways to break out of ASM programs that are not responsive, removes ASM size limits, and enable ASM programs to return values in expressions. New things in this version include improved keyboard responsiveness, bug fixes, and Voyage 200 support (in the 92+ version). Available for the TI-89 and TI-92 Plus.
- Patrick Davidson has released a slight update to the Phoenix Platinum Edition for the TI-89 and TI-92 Plus (which should work on the Voyage 200 as well).
- Also, calc.org and its hosted sites are now back up, so be sure give them a look.

Anyone who buys a calculator from calc.org is a complete idiot. First, it is obvious that they are not competent to properly code a web site and administrate a server. Second, their is no SSL, so it is easy for your credit card number to be stolen.
Yes, I realize that you are probably more at risk by giving your credit card to the person behind the counter who is making $6 an hour (unless you are using the network at your college or Defcon). However, there is a reasonable level of security expected from ecommerce sites and calc.org has none.
