wow how much bandwidth does the whole site transfer monthly?

what's cheap is that the number one on the busiest list has all basic progs whereas patrick d has all asm, though for each of his games there are multiple versions for different calcs so thats a little helpful.

Uh...

broken and down have a different number of letters in them.

From the statistics, it looks to be roughly 18-20 GB or so.

It looks like they have been averaging around 150 gigabytes per month, or about 0.5 mbps, which might seem like a lot, but really isn't all that much.

Now, the milionth comment will be even more appropriate than the first one!

Here's a suggestion.

Since some programmers tend to cheap their way onto the busiest authors list (I'm not saying that the #1 guy did, but the guy who programmed thousands of 83 "math" programs that just provided a shoddy front end for internal calc functions definitely was), why not have a couple extra categories. I realize it would be difficult to maintain something like one per calc, but their should at least be a separation between ASM and BASIC. Perhaps it would be good to also separate 68k from Z80. This wouldn't hurt legitimate programmers, and people who try to cheap their way on the list would at the very least have to make asm "pictures", or something else that takes a little more time than a 5 line basic program.

How about have a category where authors are ranked by the number of downloads divided by the number of files they have. So that programmers who release source code separately aren't "punished", files in the source code directories shouldn't be included in the calculation.
