Author profiles connected to accounts
Posted by Magnus on 3 March 2002, 17:23 GMT

We've talked about it for a long time, but not done anything about it. But finally, it's done. The file author profiles are now connected to the user accounts.

This will make it possible to modify the information on these pages directly on the site using a normal login, instead of having to mail filearchive@ticalc.org. In the beginning, you will only be able to modify the name shown on the author information page - but we will update this with more features over time.

We have automatically connected all user accounts that had identical email addresses as an author profile to that user account. All other users will manually have to attach their author profile to their user account, using our normal "secret code is mailed out" method.

If you have any questions regarding your author profile, please contact filearchive@ticalc.org.

So how do you get to it? Enter Your Account, then chose Manage File Author Profile.

well, I am not sure about where to recieve a spare case but I have a related suggestion:

TI or somebody should make their cases like they are on car radios now, where you can take the case off and then the radio (or calculator) will no longer work).
Does anybody think you could make a TI-86 look like an 83 with very little cost involved.

also: have any of you looked in radioshack for calcs? I saw an 89 for $100 today (they retail for 150, I think). now I just have to get my dad to give me the money for it.

I think they sell replacement cases that are the different colored semi-transparent kind last time I checked. I don't know... you might check their web site and see.

Dim-TI is back up at calc.org. And TI-Files is very dead. Jason Donley killed it. He paid approx. $700 (if I remember correctly), or some similar figure, to buy it, and then he took down the site and claimed he was going to overhaul it, but he never did a darn thing with it.
