Author profiles connected to accounts
Posted by Magnus on 3 March 2002, 17:23 GMT
We've talked about it for a long time, but not done anything about it. But finally, it's done. The file author profiles are now connected to the user accounts. This will make it possible to modify the information on these pages directly on the site using a normal login, instead of having to mail filearchive@ticalc.org. In the beginning, you will only be able to modify the name shown on the author information page - but we will update this with more features over time. We have automatically connected all user accounts that had identical email addresses as an author profile to that user account. All other users will manually have to attach their author profile to their user account, using our normal "secret code is mailed out" method. If you have any questions regarding your author profile, please contact filearchive@ticalc.org. So how do you get to it? Enter Your Account, then chose Manage File Author Profile.

I agree that this is very helpful, but what I'd like most is the ability to change email addresses also... maybe this could be a priority.

Hey all. I am a fairly n00bie when it comes to calc programing, and don't know of any message boards or such that deal witht he subject. This seems to be the closest thing I have come across on the subject. Would the authers here be interested in possible migrating from the replies on ti-caalc.org's bandwidth to an ezboard or such...? Independent moderatorship so Ti-Calc's staff would not be burdened. I am sure we would not hav trouble getting it set up. I have questions on programming but don't want to post "off topic" right here. would Ti-Calc.org post a link to the board, if nothign else...? I well post my question after this, but I think the board would be a great idea.
