if you press F1 on the normal menu (not custom), and then go to the about item, it shows you the serial number, and i think the AMS version as well. you can tell if you have HW2, because it says Hardware version 2 on the screen - which is not present on HW1 calcs.

on the related note, this game really makes me wish i had an 89 (only an 86 user...) [but don't forget the 89's math capabilities =)]

ONLY an 86 user? Shame on you for scolding the only ti calculator that lets you run all assembly programs from the home screen without a specific kernel to go with specific games :P

yikes! i must apologize to my 86. it is god... i'm not worthy... =)

i love the 86, but i really wish it had the 89's math capabilities (i don't use the emulation - haven't had time to try YAS and ION86 yet)

It is possible with TI89 and TI92+, but programmers due to inertia with TI92 continued with shell/library system.

yes, that's true; the shell-dependant programs, while making programs easier (?) to make, only hurt the platform in the long run with bugs/problems

this game is a tad unstable, even on hw 1 ams 1.00 calculators; the fact that it crashes after playing it twice makes it less appealing to me. either you need to put the util library that came with your version of doors or the program has a bug in it to cause that. Thats another problem I have with libraries; too many different versions are out there that don't work with current games

I too am experiencing bugs, well at least one, in this game. Whenever I get the bombs where you can control when they explode, I push the green (diamond) key. But after so many times of pushing the key, the calc shuts off!! You can push the ON button to restart the calc and it will restart exactly where you left off. But it is a hassle having to restart the calc so many times in succession when trying to play the game. Also, when I exited the game, my calculator froze-up, and I eventually had to take out batteries so that the memory would be erased. Somebody PLEASE fix those (or that if they are related) bugs!!

The remote bomb bug usually occurs when I am holding a direction and diamond. I find it more useful than annoying, as I can pause the game.

Bomber boy is best in ams 2.03, because it takes 30 seconds or less to recover from it crashing, if you set it up right.

Excellent game. Congrats to the developers. Isn't it interesting that it has been released for only 4 days and has already reached the 33rd most downloaded file and is currently running at 15000+ downloads?

Of that you are mistaken my friend. According to the file information on this site for BomberBoy 1.0, it reads (at time of writing this):
Ranked as 32 on our all-time top downloads list with 16030 downloads.
Ranked as 1 on our top downloads list so far this week with 2137 downloads.
