DoorsOS II v0.93 Released!
Posted by Eric on 10 February 2000, 07:36 GMT

Xavier Vassor and the Doors Team have released DoorsOS II v0.93 for the TI-89 and TI-92+. This new version breaks the infamous 8KB limit for programs on AMS 2.03. As usual, DoorsOS can be found in our archives. Once again, congratulations to the Doors Team!

Congrats!

I heard that the last version of Doors for the 89 wasn't compatible with the Statistics/List Editor. Has that bug been fixed by any chance?

Great job Doors team!

They said the sound barrier couldn't be broken.
HA!

They said the 8k limit couldn't be broken.
HA!

They say the speed of light can't be reached or exceeded. Hmmm....

I have a 89, with the old doorsos, and I have games that work that over 8k. such as smq(space monkey quest) if this allowed plaving of 1.0x games, then this is very cool.

Who said that? They were wrong. Einstein was wrong. Newton was really wrong. Only Bob the Fish got it right, and he hasn't evolved yet and I only know of his existance because of a premeditated temporal warp in reality.

Actually, the speed of light can be met / exceeded. And gravity has a mass.

Could you please develop that? (if you see what I mean :))

The speed of light can be exceeded by an observed object. Say I were in a ship approaching the speed of light, my time would slow down as my speed increased. Therefore I would never reach the speed of light, but someone watching me would say I had.

But the observations from one coordinating system are not valid for anohter because of relativity.

Nope, the observations in one co-ordinate system ARE valid for another point of observation so long as proper manipulation is produced. It's not absolute relativity (everything differs completely) but rather predictable relativity. (things differ according to specific rules.)

Also, what I think the previous person was trying to say, is that if train A is traving 90% the speed of light, and train B is traveling at 75% the speed of light in the opposite direction, then train A will appear to be traveling faster than the speed of light relative to train B (and the train will appear to travel backwards as the light hits train B in reverse order from emission once they've past) But train A would require infinite energy or no mass in order to actually get to the speed of light. beyond? We don't know because tardons can't observe tachyons.

The problem is in time dilethation. The passanger in train 1 will see that time in train 2 goes slower, and relative speed will be below speed of light.

actually, if you bothered to keep up with your relitivity you'd know that three things happen as you approch the speed of light.
1.Time slows down for the person who's approching the speed of light
2.distances become closer
and 3.The faster you go the more the mass increases, so as you approach the speed of light the more energy it takes for you to increse your speed. so it would, in theory, take an infinite amount of energy to make you go the speed of light which is impossable so you can't ever hit the speed of light. besides once you passed the speed of light time would go backward thus causing you to slow down again anyway. and don't point out any spelling mistakes, I'm going for an EE major not an english one.

They said the great the barrier couldn't be passed.....

And: we are already receiving the first signs of Einstein being wrong as some scientists say that the speed of light is decreasing (that would destroy almost all theories of a century's science). But still, I think Einstein was right and wrong: and that's the way it is in Star Trek.

I am sorry, but I have a friend who has 2.01, and the 8 kb limit was broken in Doors Explorer. So I don't see what's new.

The difference is that you don't need run() anymore to launch your programs from the command line... isn't it a difference for you ?

There is no difference for me, I ran SMQ v1.1.0 Beta 1 with DoorsOS II v.92 from Doors Explorer. No run() command needed =) Nothing new here...That is w/ AMS 2.03 on a TI-89.

do you understand what a command line is? the bar at the bottom of the home screen where you enter math problems. before you had to do run(smq).. now you can just type smq()

I don't think it works with HW2.00 AMS 2.03 because that's what I have and DoorsOS seems to make it crash....

DoorsOS II v0.93 seems (still) not to work with HW2 and 2.03
JoshSethG  Account Info

Hi. I'm new to upgrading calculators and have tried installing the DoorsOS on my TI89 (HW2 AMS 2.03). The startup screen works just fine but then the calculator hangs and has to be reset. I thought that .93 was supposed to correct this. Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?

I have the same problem. And I think that the only what we can do is waiting.
