2004 POTY Results
Posted by Michael on 10 January 2005, 15:49 GMT

We have tabulated the votes for the 2004 Program of the Year award. The results are in and Wacky Fun Random Numbar Generator has swept every category. Just kidding. For the real results, view the POTY Winners page. If you would like to see the original surveys, their results are now visible through the Surveys Index. To everyone who released a program in 2004, thank you, and we send extra congratulations to our POTY winners! Keep releasing outstanding programs and we will have an even better competition in 2005.

Great job to the entire TI community! I congratulate Aaron Curtis for Blinded by the Dark, which was one of my favorites. Also, BomberDude was a very well-done program. I believe that the 86 needed a better choice. Some programs that exist are outstanding, but were never featured. Blinded by the Dark never was releases in 04, so it proves my point. Congrats to everyone who submits programs, voted, writes reviews, staff, etc!

I would've expected CalcRogue to win. I think it's because too many people just decided by looking at the screenshots. If anyone's ever tried CalcRogue, they'd know that although it has sucky graphics, it's the best game that ever existed. Period.

It is certainly one of the best and most challenging game sin 2004, although I already guessed it would have as good as no chance to win (simple gfx, high difficulty,...).

It actually won the second sub-poll. But then I don't know what happened for the final poll...

CrunchyOS seems to be mysteriously missing from the results page... not that it's useful yet.
