More TI-84 Plus News
Posted by Michael on 2 May 2004, 17:16 GMT

We have made several additions to the site for the new 84+ product line. The TI-84 Plus and TI-84 Plus Silver Edition pages have been added to our Calculators page. There is also now a TI-84 Plus section of the archives. Personally, I would recommend that only programs that require the 84+ to run be placed in the 84+ directories. Most if not all 83+ programs should run just fine.

Lastly, the 84 Plus Silver Edition has been available to the public for the last week. Your local Target store has them for $129.99. Most other places are still waiting for a shipment though. The 84 Plus remains widely available.

I see that the other calculator pages have been updated. What happened to the overclocking links? Work on your gramar.

Quote: the overall latest stylistic designed from TI

Jargon, and it should be design, not designed.

Acomparison chart that lays out information all on one page would be nice.

TI has one at
http://education.ti.com/downloads/
pdf/us/graphing.pdf
(all one URL, but the darn length restriction.)
It is a pdf though.

I am working on a Java program to interactively (on multiple platforms!) give you enough stats to choke a horse. I just realized something about it... the 83+ info page would cover around 70-80% of an 800x600 monitor. But you shouldn't be running that low res, anyway.

The only thing preventing release is the fact that I cannot find a Windows commandline sequence that will run it.

LMAO!

Yep, that'll do it, assuming you have the JVM. And, since you have a compiler, I'd assume you have the Java Virutal Machine as well.

That doesn't work. I had a long reply to this several days ago, but it had a 40+ letter "word", and it was too long to retype. I've got it to work through a Web browser now. Expect release sooner rather than later.

Something else that could be fixed: There is an option for owning an 84+, but not an 84+ SE. Since there is an option for 83+ SE, I would think you should also have an option for 84+ SE.

LOL It always makes me laugh when people criticize others' grammar and spelling but spell "grammar" incorrectly. I guess there's just something about that word...

You mean: Gammar matters because without it the world would be full of a bunch of hicks.

I don't give a d*mn about spelling though.

You should make a note in readme.upload, maybe even on the form, to remind people that most programs are compatible with both calculators. Same goes, I guess, for 92+/V200.

For a peek under the hood, so to speak, of the 84 SE, take a look at the DS message boards (article linked in above URL). Photo of the circuit board included!

The clock function could be very interesting,
does anybody already know how precize it is?

(It will make the celestial part of Navigate! 04.26 more automatic, you'll need only a stopwatch, a Ti84 and a sextant. If that clock works precize over a longer period)

TI's best financial calculator. It's been out for a while.

I think the BA II Plus Professional, or whatever the heck it is, is what was being referred to.
