Calculator Chili?
Posted by Michael on 31 January 2004, 00:58 GMT

Hormel Foods Corporation has recalled its canned chili product because of external contamination. What was 104,000 pounds of chili contaminated with - Mad Cow Disease? No. Calculators. Sixteen states now have extra-special, super-mathematical cans of chili on their grocery shelves.

In unrelated events, a former ticalc.org staff member has reported that Nick lost his graphing calculator last week. After an unsuccessful attempt at late-night cow tipping, Nick was performing bovine mass computations. Upon leaving the pasture, he was subsequently unsure as to where had left his beloved 86.

This article is inaccurate. I only own an 89, the Champagne of Calculators... and it wasn't because I lost the 86. Never believe what you read.

Maybe, you only think you own an 89, because of some random physcodellic experiment that altered your memory..... you never know ;-)

Or maybe none of this is real because we are all figments of some super-being's imagination, an imagination that likes to see a world blessed with calculators. Or maybe we philosophers are just stupid.

if there's a superbeing, I wonder if he manifests himself in what we think are common things... like dogs or pianos. this is getting rediculous.

If you like the superbeing idea, you should read the book "Sophie's World".

None of you have been to college. God. It was a play on Miller High Life's motto "The Champagne of Beers."

This is sad. All of you make me sad. I am crestfallen.

No need to feel so down. I don't like beer, so I stay away from it. It is no big deal.

No, I still have my 89. I might eBay it after I graduate, though... I'm trying to sell off most of my less important possessions so I can pay for graduate school.

So my question is: who here is rich and ignorant enough to pay a ridiculously exhorbitant sum for a HW1, AMS1.00 TI-89 that is, to my knowledge, the 47th one ever off the assembly line? ;)

What's the conversion rate between AU and US? I suppose I could look it up myself... but $100AU sounds like a good price, I might sell you my HW2 89 and go buy a Titanium.
