The Return of the Reviews
Posted by Magnus on 24 January 2004, 16:18 GMT
A lot of people have been asking us if we are going to bring reviews back. And we've always responded "yes, but we don't know when". Well, we can now announce that reviews will be brought back to ticalc.org on January 24th, 2004, at approximatly 16:00 GMT. The main change from before is that we now allow (and ask!) anybody with an account to write a review. Just open up the fileinfo page for the file you want to review, and click the link. All reviews will be checked and possibly edited by one of our staff members before posted to the site. The reviews from the old system are not currently included. We will look into ways to bring them back without bringing back outdated information over then next couple of weeks. Get reviewing! Update (Morgan): A suggested format for a review is now up. Also, just as a reminder reviews@ticalc.org is open to you as well. Here is another example of a well written review.

REVIEWS!!!!!
What i think is the best, is that they are user reviews. However, I hope that people wioll not use this as a way to down people that they do not like by giving them bad reviews -- I am talking to those of you that hate William White.

Would somebody review my asm 86 game from yesteryear "Savant F"? I think this is the most underappreciated game in all TI history. By the way, Morgan, Magnus, whomever handles such things.. could you fix the "author" for this file? It says "Thomas Williamson, Biobytes Soft" when it should just be me, "Thomas Williamson". Whenever you have the free time, thanks.

Could be interesting. What recourse would an author have if a review is written by a twit who did not read the f manual? Personally I'm egotistical enough to request a program deleted from the archive if I don't like the review. My primary goal with the software I produce is only to please myself.
