There seems to be bug in the 83 version. Every time i go into the cave to fight a bat, the game feezes. I have to take the batteries out. This hasn't happened to just me. Some of my friends experienced the very same problem. Is this going to be fixed?

Yep, that's a bug in the enemy movement routines. It's already fixed, I'm just waiting for ticalc.org to update their archives.

Are you sure? My calc crashed three times, twice when I went into the room with the bat and the chest near the keydoors, and once in a random spot in the cave. I have the updated version of Zelda, but I still got that crash. Do you know why?

A little more information would be helpful.
So:

What is your ROM version?
What shell are you using?
Was your sword drawn at the time of attack?
What was the enemies position on the screen? (was it next to a wall, in a doorway, etc)

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Legend of Zelda Demo v0.52.3 released

ROM: 1.07000
Shell: sos v. 1.6 during a couple of crashes, and 1.7 during a couple of others
Sword: a couple times: no, other times: yes.
The enemy was in the middle of the screen one time, and close to a wall the other times.

I hope this helpes.

I have no idea what's going on. Are you using v.52.4? No one(except 86 users) has had any trouble with v.52.4. The next time it happens, email me directly with exact details as to the situation.

86 Users: Be sure to download the updated 82 zip once it gets loaded to ticalc.org(I sent it in about an hour ago). The ASE version should work a little(possibly a lot better for some) than the last.

ATTENTION 86 PEOPLE!!!!!

Ok, I just submitted v.52.4 to ticalc.org. It fixes the one crashing bug. Also in the 82 zip, there is a file called ZELDA86.86P. It will only work for ASE 86.
Go to my site this weekend for further information about the Zelda and Blitz projects.

One more thing, is there an 86 set/res command that will write text directly to the GRAPH_MEM(not fc00)? The way ASE handles the 82 display controller is to copy the 82 GRAPH_MEM to the 86 GRAPH_MEM, then when an 82 prog calls DISP_GRAPH, ASE copies GRAPH_MEM to VIDEO_MEM. In this process, all text on the screen is lost.

So is there an 86 set/res similar to set/res 7,(iy+$14) on the 82? I thought set/res 6,(iy+24) was, but it isn't.

Emphasize the "so far". The version you downloaded from my page has just been recalled because for some strange reason the dungeon is not loading.

I tried clearing my memory and only putting on Zelda, and it worked. And I must say, Link is... well... big :) Hehe.

Maybe I should use the old ASE? (ASE 1.0)

it works with ase 1.0 (ussually). I like 1.0 better anyway.

Ummm.....

Where can I get the updated version(for the 83)?

Question: I gave my friend Zelda for his 82, and when he tried to use the boomerang, the calc crashed. This has happened at least twice. Has this bug been fixed?

Re: Re: Legend of Zelda Demo v0.52.3 released

It was fixed with v.52.3. That bug was the main reason for the new release.

Sam and Derrick, I just want to let y'all know that your webpage looks awesome!!! One of the best homepage type things I've seen in a while, and one of the better TI sites. =) Many great games you have on there Sam, and Hard Hat Mack looks great as well, Derrick. =) Well Derrick, are you interested in offering your great programming skills to the TCPA, or are you leaning towards Icarus with Sam, if not already in that organization? =P

Thanks for the compliment about the site. Not meaning to speak for Derrick(it's just that he doesn't frequently visit ticalc.org), but he told me that he has no intention of joining TCPA.

I have never mentioned to anyone that I wanted to join Icarus. Of course, if I did become a member, it would be cool to be among legends like Jimmy Mardell and Andreas Ess(not that Shepcar isn't also legendary for the 86)
