How do I customize the front page to fit my needs?

You first have to enable your custom front page which can be done in your Account Preferences which is located in the Your Account toolbar. Once you have enabled it, your front page will reflect your current account preferences. Just alter your preferences to change both your customized front page and other account related preferences.
