I carry my TI89 and my psion revo with the TI85 emulator. If I find a TI85rom, I would have 2 calcs. I didn't searched it anyway... But If a TI89 emulator comes out, then I would carry my psion only...

I carry my TI-89 as well as a scientific calculator. The scientific calculator is so I don't forget it for the occasional math team meet, since they hilariously allow all TI's except the 89 and 92(+) (as well as the HP49G), because of the CAS. I think that they should allow all SAT / AP approved calculators (everything but the 92/92+) or no graphing calculators. The TI-89 I use for everything else, though. I don't make typos very often anymore because I can view what I inputted afterwards on the history. It's a very nice feature.

And a funny thing that I should mention is that I can't use both of these calculators on AP exams. You can bring two graphing calculators or two scientific calculators but not one graphing and one scientific calc.

Why not?

Why not? It seems to me that if both calculators are acceptable for use alone, they should be acceptable together.

Knight/Rocket's 6c.

Yeah, I completely agree. And the fact that they decide not to use logic is what I find hilarious about it.

I got 4, but i only carry 2: my 89 and 36. I've got a Sharp EL or something, but it needs alot of light since the battery compartment got smashed up. I've also got a 83+, but I'm careless w/ it and lose it from day to day.

the only reason I carry a 2nd calc is that some one
will want to one and they give me strange looks when
I hand them my 86mod.

tell me...

What is the point of carrying two of the exact same calculator? I can see it useful if the teacher asks you to clear the memory before a test or something, but...why?

Well If one crashes, I use the other as a backup. Plus one is mine and the other one I will let people use as long as they are in the same room as me. I dont let people take my calculatora out of my sight.

Well, I like to collect the TI-Series so i can learn the programming language to it. (I know it's stupid, but it gives me something to learn about.)

I always have my 86 with me, and a simple, blue, cheap ti calc so that I can do fractions.

I always carry two calculators with me to school:
-One scientific RPN a.k.a. my 32SII
-One graphing calculator (My 48GX OR TI-89)
and for math league:
-My 49G AND TI-89

Just so you know:
HP 32SII; RPN keystroke programable scientific calc (like a TI-30x only better)
HP 48GX; old HP graphing calc about on par with a TI-86
HP 49G; CAS equiped graphing calc about on par with a TI-89
TI-89; (you should know) one of the most powerful calcs on plant earth

Not that anyone cares.

I have a ti-89, a ti-86(modified), and a HP49G.
I really like most parts about the HP49G(equation writer, filing system, 3d graphing), but it is a bit slower than the Ti-89 in most respects

I carry two: my 83 and my 89. I'm not sure why I carry the 83 anymore, I just cannibalized the batteries in it today, so I guess I'm just carrying it for the hell of it.

I carry two. I just got my TI-89 not too long ago and i love it. and i also keep my 83+ in my bag just to keep some random games and things on there. yes i do do some gaming on the 89, but i dont know why. SOMEHOW, TI is going to give you over 9 times as much memory as the TI-83+ in the TI-83+ SE, yet it's only gonna cost $30-$40 more. WOW
