"...I've always programmed in low level languages"

Isn't it pretty much the standard of learning a highlevel like BASIC (or a strain of), or C/#/++ or even something like Pascal? Because if anyone started with assembly or machine code please respond cause thats a pretty amazing feat w.o backup knowledge of programming/program structure.

" Neither, I like using both as needed" works for me. For calculators, I use both. I can program in TI-BASIC directly on my calculators. I only use high-level languages for the computer though.

I like basic for its easyness and its fun to see how much we can make with so few (Bryan Thomas, weregoose, etc), however if I knew and was able to learn ASM I would rather use that so I can have 8 level grayscale porn

I really like both types and I use them according to my needs, Some things you can't do with hi-level, others are too complex for low-level...
...so get the best from both worlds!

I liek the ease of high-level and the control you get with low. It also depends on what your trying to do. Use the best tool for teh job, for a small, short math program, I'll use basic, so something faster(usu. games/graphics) I'll use asm.
