sorry to double post, but an idea just occured to me. Jon, would it be possible to turn the words in the survey options into hyperlinks to take you to the program's page or perhaps news article? That would make it much easier to recall these programs for the voters without having to search them out. Just a thought...

I do think it's a good idea, though I'm not sure if the survey system supports it. I will look into it though.

why don't you just make a new news post for it giving hyperlinks to all of the programs. that way its the first thing you see when you go on ticalc.org and it wouldn't bother the survey system.

Alas! I cannot vote in this survey! I fried my 84+ se's circuit board. Anyway, moving on, I think there should be options such as, "I don't own a 83+/4+/se," or, "Other program/app."

Please understand that this is a POTY CONTEST, not a poll!

yes it would be lame if "I don't own whatever calc" won.

Last year the "I have no opinion" choice did win the 83+ poll. It doesn't affect the results though; it's only there to give disinterested people something harmless to choose instead of otherwise randomly skewing the results.

Yeah, the "other program" option would be pointless, since the POTY candidates are by definition the programs that got featured.

Please tell me you at least got a rom from it first...

You could still use an emulator to try out the games and then vote :)

but that would be illegal!

If you have no opinion, then don't vote and wait for the next round. There will be a round for the other calc families as well so you can vote on programs youve actually used before.

It wouldn't be illegal, since he owns the actual calc.

That's what the "I don't have an opinion" option is for!

He might have posted the comment before the "I have no opinion" option was up; there was an error in the original survey.

What happens if "I have no opinion" wins? ;-) Is it just ignored? Then why is there that option at all, as opposed to just not voting?

Because some obsessive-compulsive people have to vote on every survey.. it's just not in them to not vote :-D

For the first question, see post above. I guess the "I have no opinion" won in last year's 83+ survey, but it was ignored.

I'd vote for it except for the fact that I've never used it because I don't have an SE!

And there's another reason, which not many of you would know.

I voted for it because it has the most potential for usefulness (despite the fact that I'm having problems getting it to work...)

Yeah, too bad it isn't for 68k. :(

BUT, I might get a 84+ SE if I really want to (there seems to be potential).
