I spent quite a bit of money on my 89titanium, so i might as well pull it out and use the clock on it.

having the clock on uses more battery then having it off. your calc has to wakeup every sec to update the cloc then turn off again.

Comes in handy more than people think. (for example the clocks at my school are never right, i don't know why, among other things)

My TI-92+ runs for over a month (never timed it exactly, probably more like 3 months) with regular usage (30+ minutes of Tetris per day plus whatever math needs to be done) with the clock on in the background, so unless one is hard pressed for batteries or recharging time, it does not really matter.

No it doesn't, since the clock is extremely low powered and is a separate piece of hardware.

You will not be able to notice a difference in battery life with it either on or off.

I used Timerize on my 84+ SE for quite a while, but the later versions started getting insanely big (13K!) and kept crashing Mirage, clearing the RAM and defeating the point of having a clock in the first place.

a time program that takes up that much mem isn't worth it.

I always wear a watch, so it's just second nature to glance at it when I need the time. I also have put together a basic clock program. But since my RAM clears all the time, it becomes a hassle to reset the clock. It also takes a little longer to launch the program than to look at my watch. But I still do both.

No clock in my calc yet...I'm working on embedding an RTC (a Dallas DS1337 - great part number, isn't it?), but I'm having some minor issues with setting the time of day.

What calc do you have? There are many useful clock programs for 83+'s.

For the 84+/se's there is Timerize, but just use the search feature on ticalc.org. or just always wear a watch.

Uh, yeah. Wearing a watch is the simplest.

I really don't think having a watch on your calculator is worth the hassle. It chews up archive space, (especially for ti 83+ users), and is usually not very accurate.

I've got an 86, but I'd much rather do it in hardware anyways (more accurate, simpler, less battery-draining).
