By "new," could you mean something like "modifying the calculator to use extra memory?" The extra memory could be new...

You can still relish in the fact that you have a "collector's" calculator since they don't sell 83SE's anymore...

Its kinda like cars....

Mine do. My dad has a collection of calculators (& my mom at least knows that a TI-81 is blue while the rest are black, although I know that was not the intent).

Just TIs so far. He has an old HP from college, but he did not "collect" it for that reason. I personally have no HPs either. On the other hand, I have a slide rule...it tends to confuse people if they ask me a math problem & I pull it out. :)

I'm not buying one this year. My 83+ and my 89ti are fine this year. Next year, though, I will buy an 84+se. It supposed to be useful for chemistry so I'll buy one, and if its not, oh well I still got a new calc.
